I was thinking about it. But they let the standards go too low when they let you in. Too bad! I'll be in the NL Auction. They still have standards. ;)

It's hard to believe this league hasn't filled yet. Didn't the NFBC used to offer and fill multiple of both AL & NL only leagues on both coasts back in the early years? Where have all the purists gone?

I wish these leagues were in NYC. It's a shame the auctions aren't more popular.

Our debut season of 2004 consisted of 16 leagues: 13 Main Events among Las Vegas, New York and Chicago, 2 AL-only auctions at $1,250 each and 1 NL-only auction at $1,250. They were almost 20 percent of our offerings back in the early days!!!

We are going to fill this AL Auction league somehow. We always do. I'm talking with a few NFBC veterans, so keep the faith. We have 3 extras for the NL, but for some reason we're short in the AL. Is Shawn's dominance scaring folks away? :?:

First he's responsible for the death of two competing contests. Now the AL Auction. Childs is like the black hole of fantasy sports!!

Run NFBC, run!!!!

In all seriousness, where are all the Auction superstars looking to add yet another format to their near HOF resumes?

Where's Juprinka? The other two HOF-ers are doing Only leagues. Don't you feel left out?
Where's Dobies? You can't be the king of Auctions just in mixed leagues my friend and neighbor.
Where's Greenberg? As reigning Overall Auction champion, you almost have a responsibility to join up.
Where's Gillis? Didn't he used to always win this thing?
Where's McCaffery? Doesn't he write about this stuff?
Where's Josh? Did Stadtmueller ban you from joining this year?
Where's Potts, Tyrer, Nicola, Churchill? All these guys & others were in this league when I last tried & failed here in 2012.
Where's Massotto? No reason he should give this a try, but I'm sure you understand why I want him in.

Seriously, there's many options to filling this league Greg. Despite the Childs curse, I think you can do it. Let's make it happen!! ;)

Man, I travel across the country to get away from having my a$$ handed to me by Mr. Magner two weeks in a row and he ends up in the same Auction room with me one week later and 3000 miles away. There is no end to my pain. :?

Welcome aboard Ken, you too Jimmy.

This is turning out to be quite the event. One more to go!!! Let's get that last entry today. Massotto?

Greg, Tom, it's getting close to crunch time here with only a little over a week until this Auction takes place.
Any nibbles on the last spot?

Let's make this happen. Shawn wants "one for the thumb".

Glenn:

I have recruited Team Wiseguy ( McCaffery and Menna ) to assist team Sack and Luny,
With the great cast involved in this event I better bring all the guns to the table!

Let's get Greg Morgan into this mix!

PS: Massotto is to busy making reservations at Ruth Chris Steakhouse, besides an AL Only
Type league requires some deep thought and insight. No way Massotto takes a shot here. After
All,a man must no his limitations and Mikey has plenty of those when it comes to drafting a team.

I think only two allowed at a table my friend. No consortiums in the room. Check rule #1256a paragraph 3c of the NFBC AL Auction bylaws. I think we need a legal interpretation. Counselor Particelli?

Now in regards to Massotto, figures. I think Joe Berg should fill the last spot. This is a 12-teamer after all. ;)

Ahhh Mr. Lowy, I would get crushed in this league. I can't see myself playing any auctions. The learning curve and expense associated with it are not for me. I'm already 2 leagues past my comfort zone with our current FAAB set up. Have you heard of any updates?

I've got some good news. Sam Botnick just gave me a ring......and yes, he's taking the last spot in this AL Auction.
That's right boys and girls. This league is full!!!!

Greg, Tom, Sam said he'd be reaching out to you tomorrow to finalize the details but asked me to post the good news tonight for him as he's just a message board reader rather than contributor. Who cares about the message board though, because Sam is the Man!

We're on boys. A week from Friday. See you all then.

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Mar 20, 2014 7:08 am

I'm happy to report that the $1,300 AL Auction League in Las Vegas IS SOLD OUT!!!

Thanks to Sam Botnick, our $100,000 champion in the Rotowire Fantasy Football Online Championship this past season, for taking the final spot. If I recollect, Sam first joined the NFBC several years ago to do the AL Auction League, so it's great to have him back here. We now have an All-Star group of owners for our 11th straight $1,300 AL Auction League in Las Vegas. Amazing. Shawn Childs is the defending champ here and he's won 4 AL Auction League titles, so this should be fun. Good luck to all!!

Here's the final lineup card for this one at the Bellagio on Friday afternoon, March 28th:

NFBC $1,300 AL AUCTION LEAGUE
LAS VEGAS
Bellagio Las Vegas
Friday, March 28, 4 p.m. PT
1. Todd Zola, Bellingham, Massachusetts
2. Jon Stadtmueller, Little Rock, Arkansas
3. Shawn Childs, Forestdale, Massachusetts
4. Brian Ogan, Chicago, Illinois
5. Shawn Harvey, Richmond Hill, Ontario
6. John Richards, Overland Park, Kansas
7. Daniel Ostas, Norman, Oklahoma
8. Glenn Lowy, Farmingville, New York
9. David Smith, Warren, Ohio
10. Mark Srebro, York, Pennsylvania
11. Ken Magner, Freehold, New Jersey
12. Sam Botnick, Tarzana, California

Childs - Your day of reckoning is upon us

The heavyweight champion is taking the mandatory eight count. And Srebro is as poised as can be"
