The New FAAB System Is Now Live

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Apr 04, 2014 10:23 am

The new FAAB system is now live on all of your team pages. Please click on Transactions, Free Agents to see the new setup. Please work on it today to get used to everything and we look forward to your comments here.

Any free agent bids you made before today are still visible and saved on this new setup. No worries there.

Thanks for all the input here and we look forward to your feedback. Good luck all and hopefully this saves you time on Sundays.

Just a heads up here: This new FAAB setup is not completely done. Because of space constraints with the new setup, we were not able to get in stat categories such as % Owned, % Started and Date a Player Was Added. Those are all going to be available soon as a separate tab among the Free Agents. We are still working on that now, but we felt it was best to get this live as is rather than wait for that. But all of those stat categories will be added in the near future.

And for those owners who don't like change, you can scroll to the bottom of the page and click on this:

If you want to view the old version of free agent rankings, please click here.

Thanks all and good luck with the new FAAB system.

And another pat on the back for having our rosters fine tuned.
A lot easier to see players on our bench by position, especially for those 50 rounders!
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

YES! The New FAAB appears to have cleared up the IPAD issue. Thanks Greg!

Looks great. One suggestion would be to improve the color/font schemes. Not sure exactly what I have in mind, but everything sorta blends together.

Definitely an obvious improvement off quick glance and first impression. Thank you Greg.

One quick question though....is there any way we can restore the percentage owned column? I found that an asset when you have multiple teams in finding the "stray" player for any particular league that is typically not available in FAAB across the board.

Other than that, it looks great off first glance. I'll need to play around with it a bit to use and check all its functionality, but kudos so far.

Agree, don't care about the other missing columns but pct owned is important.

I saw that Tom, "soon" in IT-speak can sometimes mean months. :?

I'm having a little trouble dragging and dropping. I keep getting the circle with the slash across it like I always see when I try to smoke a cigarette indoors. :? Anyone else having issues and if not, anyone have a suggestion if I'm doing something wrong?

It seems that the drag and drop is really for once you establish the que, you can use the drag and drop to move players up and down the list easily or to replace a player in the que. You can't use the drag and drop to move players quickly into a new que, its still the old way by clicking the add button. At least that is what it seems to me.

This is awesome Greg, well done.

My only comment would be for the side list, if we could somehow how that pane as we scrolled the player list down, this would be absolutely perfect.

We had a choice of waiting an extra week to get % Owned live or to debut it today. I chose to debut this today, while still working on the added tab that will show % Owned, % Started and when new players arrive in the free agent pool. It's not going to take months to add these additional stats, but we do need to create a separate tab for these stats because there's just not enough room in the current setup for three more columns of data. But that data is on the old FAAB setup if you really need that for this week and we should have this new tab added shortly.

I'm glad we went live this week with the new FAAB setup, so give us another week to get the rest done.

I know I can just use the old version so this isn't exactly a complaint but I think you want feedback. The GS stat missing from the pitching side is a deal-breaker for me (and, before everyone gets on me, no, it's not one of the stats mentioned up top). That was accessible when you changed the stats from fantasy to standard on the old version. If there's a way to get standard stats now, I don't see it. OBP would also be useful on the hitting side.
Chance favors the prepared mind.

I can translate: He wants to know if you can make the "pending bids" column slide down as you scroll downward through the list of available players

That must be Russ or Ronny....I don't post as Cali Cartel.

I'm fine with the new set up.

Good job Greg! I will take a look in depth when I get home.

Another poster said GS isn't on there anymore. I think that should be a must add if you are taking feedback. Thanks

We'll see what else can be added to the tab that has % Owned, % Started, etc. Seems like this could be doable for the other stats you are requesting, but let's see what IT says. Good suggestion.

Agree with Brian, Games Started is crucial as it allows us to separate starting pitchers from the thousand relievers.

Pct started and activate date would be low-level priority for me.

I just got home and tried FAAB on my personal laptop. The drag & drop now runs flawlessly.

I figure that my issues this afternoon were due to testing it on my office equipment that's akin to a 1980's Commodore with IE1 and a dial up connection. :?

Great job Guys. Kudos to Greg, Tom, and the STATS IT team.

Now get that percentage owned and games played up and running and we'll pretty much have the perfect FAAB back end.
Thanks again.

PS... One more time for old times sake.... Greg, can we get an update on FAAB? :P

A couple quick things while playing around with the new FAAB.....

Greg, are we able to sort by player name? I've been trying to and no luck. Please let me know if we can make that sortable.

Secondly, I get what Cali Cartel was asking. He wants the pending side to remain stationary and not scroll with the free agent list as we scroll that side down. Sort of like you would do with the heading or number listing with an excel spreadsheet.
