Teamwork?

Twice this year Joe Nathan gets a W after BS in a game where VMart homers.

Does this happen much?

I assume you have both on your team? Are you looking for that Nathan replacement because he looks more than shaky?

Nope, it's not about me today. I just thought it was interesting that VMart's 2nd HR of the season gave Nathan his 2nd win.

I have Nathan in the Auction. I would rather have the good underlying stats and the saves, but at least the wins are a nice consolation prize.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

I have Nathan in the main. Are you worried about him? I know it's early but could he be pulling the Trevor Hoffman end of career situation here? If I recall correctly, Trevor lost it pretty quick once he did?

Last year........

132 different pitchers received "credit" for a Blown Save in a game that their Team eventually won. Not all of them are closers. You can get a blown save in the 7th inning as an example.
50 of them did it more than once.
Junichi Tazawa did it the most (6)

53 different pitchers received credit for a Blown Save and a Win.
8 did it more than once.
Jonathan Papelbon did it the most (3)

Since 1990.........

128 different pitchers have gotten at least 10 Blown Saves in a game their Team won.
Roberto Hernandez did it the most times (35)
Mariano Rivera is second with 34

Those two are also first and second respectively in games with a Blown Save and a Win to their credit
Hernandez (23)
Mariano (19)

I think Nathan will have a long leash. But after seeing how playing for Detroit affected Jose Valverde I would think there's a risk that Nathan's confidence could take a hit.

Nathan says that he is in a "dead arm period" but of course neither he nor the Tigers want him to take any time off so he is trying to pitch through it - IF he is correct and there is no other reason, then he should get back to "normal" although IIRC there was some falloff in his 2013 peripheral stats.
