Maybe one with $100 or $200 buy-in with a reduced amount of entries to increase the odds of winning (and the risk involved in entering) for those who would prefer that.Red Sox Nation- wrote:Navel Lint wrote:Just my opinion... +1 Agreed
To me the prize is the Main Event entry. I'd prefer to see fewer entries and one prize rather than more entries and a ME prize and cash prizes. Just set up more 70 team events if the interest exists.

Could probably fill a $50 contest without much trouble.

Yes, I've told Fanduel that. Their initial reaction was to add more prizes, but I've educated them on what our audience is looking for!! We'll likely go that route.Red Sox Nation- wrote:Navel Lint wrote:

Yeah, we can definitely try different price points: $50 with 35 teams, one per person, $100, etc. Hey, this is the first time we've done this and we're already happy with the results!! Maybe we'll offer one of each next Friday. I'll talk with Geoff this week and get this rolling. It's definitely an area we're excited about and we'll do it on Friday's, so watch for more details.

Here is a thought. 100 entries. $50 per entry. Top 3 teams get main event seat. This makes it less of a lottery to win. I don't think you will have any problem filling this.

$100, 35 entries, top 2 win Main Events. I think that might work.Greg Ambrosius wrote:Yeah, we can definitely try different price points: $50 with 35 teams, one per person, $100, etc. Hey, this is the first time we've done this and we're already happy with the results!! All of these suggestions are great as long as we can fill them up. Again, we're just marketing this to NFBC owners and we haven't really even done that. But all of this makes sense and Friday Night Specials are the way to go. I'll talk with Geoff after this weekend and see what we can do each week. Could be a mix of each every week to make this fun. Thanks for the suggestions.

Can Fanduel somehow open these up on Monday for Friday night games? (without the player prices of course) If they could these would fill up rapidly. Great idea all around. Greg, u could likely fill a couple of these a week

Jesse Chavez popularity hits all-time high, 48% of NFBC says he's the pitcher of the night.

Couldn't fade Chavez in that matchup, but really wanted to go with Robbie Ross.
My squad:
SP - Chavez (48%)
C - Arencibia (5%)
1b - Moss (5%)
2b - Utley (15%)
3b - Aramis (29%)
SS - Hanley (23%)
OF - Braun (33%), Crisp (16%), Rios (7%)

There's no reason (I don't think) the NFBC/FanDuel contests have to be Friday. It's best if they're on a day with a full slate like Tuesday so perhaps if we go to twice a week, we can have a Tuesday contest and a Friday contest?
Although having one on Wednesday could provide a fun radio segment.

Glad I didn't get in this week, had Cespedes in my original starting lineup and wouldn't have had a chance to remove him before the games started. I usually check rotowire for the daily lineups.
I did load my lineup with Brewers and Garza as my SP vs the Cubbies in a $1 league with 10,000+ entries!

I'm surprised to see how many managers took players in games threatened by rain.
The savvy DFS managers know to be wary of rain and players on teams who haven't posted their lineups before the cutoff.
I hope someday I'll be a good DFS player. There's quite a learning curve.

Is it wrong of me to hope live scoring on FanDuel screws up tonight for the entertainment value?

Scoring and standings updates are lightening fast, I would literally blink, and the standings change, pretty crazy.ToddZ wrote:Is it wrong of me to hope live scoring on FanDuel screws up tonight for the entertainment value?

I took Chavez on my team but was close to talking myself out of it.KJ Duke wrote:Jesse Chavez popularity hits all-time high, 48% of NFBC says he's the pitcher of the night.
All of his great work this season has been in pitchers parks (@MIN, @LAA, OAKx2).
How will he fare in Houston?

What are the chances a blown save decides this event?
Looking bad in Atlanta with the lead only 5-4 now.

Effen closers. If they're not wrecking havoc on our fantasy teams and FAAB, they'll figure a way to factor into the daily games and they are not even part of the starting line-up. Figures.Deadheadz wrote:What are the chances a blown save decides this event?
