And presenting the 2014 "MLB You Are Screwed (and not in the good way) Award" are the our winners from the past two years, Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels!

"And the winner, surprisingly not a Phillie, is......"
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

The way the Cubs found a way to blow that win for Samardzija in the 9th inning yesterday was just sickening. There were two bloop singles in the 9th inning, but Hector Rondon walked one batter and put himself in enough trouble. Then Darwin Barney throws one in the dirt on a double play ball and suddenly Samardzija is out of a win. Sick.

He should get a win yet this year. Yesterday looked like his best chance, but it wasn't to be.
