Looks like two months for Wil Myers as the reported sprain is revealed to be a stress fracture.

My son Joshua was hit in the arm with a pitch and cried for about 5 minutes. Chances are, he might be limited in tomorrow's practice. Make your lineup decisions accordingly. For some reason, rotoworld isn't reporting it, so hopefully no one beat me to posting it here.

I had Cargo last year and obviously he was having a great season prior to the mysterious finger injury. I was shocked that he didn't have any kind of corrective surgery in the offseason for it. Having said that, my pitching staff of Jose Fernandez, Pineda, Ventura not looking so good now!

This thread lasting this long speaks to how many fantasy players think. The regurgitated news from RotoWorld isn't enough that most already knew isn't enough 'doomsday'. We also put spins on these reports to make them seem even more ominous.
In the mean time, little is said about injuries being over for players like Abreu, Josh Hamilton, or Iwakuma, or the several others who do not or have not been injured at all.

Threads about how hot hitters get when benched or how players thrive once dropped from a roster....
It happens to ALL of us.
Like Jim Morrison said, "Nobody here gets out alive!"
He then, went out and proved it.
Nobody is 'above' making these mistakes.
It is part of the game. It always has been part of the game.
Nelson Cruz, who was mentioned in this very thread, is having a great year. So is Alexie Ramirez. And Tim Hudson. And Johnny Cueto.
No threads for them till hurt.
And it is like the Debby Downers can't wait for RotoWorld to report one of them is hurt, so that the news most of us already know, can be re-printed here.
Like in other cases, I do not see the value. :D
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Not for nothing Dan, but even the guys not on the DL are sitting a lot more these days... in a weekly game like the NFBC games its more like guessing some of the time now who might play because of some nick or cut or Boo boo and it's becoming more of factor... I've actually missed a few injuries on roto world beucase I don't care for that site too much and don't mind peeking in on this one for the latest, in fact, I prefer this forum to rotoworld for the latest injury news.... rotoworld reporting is a joke at times... another way to look at is, those reading this thread if they ignored it, there would hardly be anyone coming these forums in the dog days of mid may till September... like is repeated many times, if folks don't like a thread, then don't read them...

Trout should have been put on the DL when he first came up lame and it would probably be a non issue now... But if they put him on the DL then attendance tanks for those games hes not playing, so why not just let the fans think he is day to day... There is a lot more impact by injured players than Fantasy players think. MLB has data that shows a significant amount of players should have gone on the DL in the past, but for various reasons they did not.... the old day to day BS that Rotoworld touts and every other site too....lol... They all got no clue, cause teams aren't saying anything, other than than the obvious injury and the small market teams with little press covering them, forget about any accurate information spilling out...

anyhow just my 2 cents...carry on..

I dont see any value or worth for people to continue to bitch and moan about this thread as we are 22 pages in. clearly some people are getting some level of enjoyment out of it. :D

start a new thread.. call it Great Baseball Stories.. first story can be about jessie chavez. the 2nd can be about jason lane coming back to the majors after 7 years in the minors re-inventing himself as a pitcher. Or how about a thread called "I Wished I Drafted..." then everyone can say how they screwed the pooch in the draft and how they shouldve drafted Josh Donaldson or Jose Abreu types. just create a new one and try to get some traction in a different way.

the complaining about what this thread is reminds me of those super lame bumper stickers that read "War is not the Answer." well what the hell is the answer? ill tell you.. stop bitching and do something about it. nobody enjoys reading posts the length of war in peace.. thats why i think this thread is living.. its snippets. its funny and it fills in the time. i certainly prefer it to all the shitty $$$FILL IN THE BLANK$$$ threads in which people are hyping people. we all read the fantasy sites so i dont need someone posting that

Each week, they should award a prize for the whiniest post about injuries and the whiniest post about the injury thread.

Honestly, I've never seen a forum on any subject where the members give so many ****s about what other people post.

I'll admit I wouldn't have taken Cruz unless he "fell" to me....but I really was going to draft Encarnacion, Stanton, and B. Moss. I got none of them. Which is why my team is pathetic probably. Shoulda, coulda, woulda........but every year turns into that which is a systemic problem at this point.

I do find it amusing that some say they check this thread for injuries.

A thread can be ignored. Please exercise some self discipline and resist the urge to click on this thread.
You and everyone else will be much happier.

If you figured that out for your self, you wouldn't even have read it. What's going on, did you "subscribe" to it?
You sound like an addict.

The truth is that you can't resist reading this thread because you worry that an injury will get posted here that you missed in all your own hard work researching. Then you're disappointed when all you see is the same stuff you know already.

Those who post new injury news here are collaborating this spreading the work around which should make it easier. I'm sure you don't trust us enough to get everything so you're still checking all your own sources.

I think what pisses you off the most about this thread is that it makes getting the news easier or even effortless for your opponents. You're used to doing a lot of work to gain an edge but now everyone can have that info so your edge is slowly slipping away.

They discussed this very concept on one of the ESPN podcasts recently. It used to be that, without the internet, research was hard if not impossible in some aspects. Those who could scout minor leaguers or be around the team every day had a huge advantage.
Modern technology has tended to level the playing field more.

Bitch all you want. The thread isn't going away, now is it?

Dough- What does it matter how anyone gets the news. We only get what the news makers want us to know and most of the time with their own slants or opinions mixed in.

So is there anyone that really knows what is going with Trout? or is everyone just guessing and praying... and keeping him in their lineups hoping that his day to day status allows him to play today or tomorrow or the next day or will we hear in 6 days he is going to the DL?

Jedd Gyorko could be headed to the disabled list due to a flareup of the plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Wonder how many of us knew that? I saw a mention of that in a small blurb over a month ago and nothing since anywhere, other than he just sucked when he would play.

Now it seems He gone and for quite some time and will probably be dumped en mass this coming FAAB

Possible surgery for Cargo, but will probably be 2 weeks before they decide that - bottom line- who knows at this point. Wait and hope if you are a Cargo owner..

Its actually being reported he may have a splinter or a finger nail in a place in the finger where they shouldn't be... You really cannot make this stuff up... I know where my finger nails are at all times...

I read this thread just to see which guy DH pisses off on a daily basis. The funniest comments I am seeing is that by posting injuries on this thread, guys like me are upset because it gives my competitors a heads up. Please tell me what seasoned fantasy player doesn't have access to rotoworld or twitter? Nearly every injury posted refers to a rotoworld update.

There have been many long lasting threads that have peaked my interest. This thread is just a race to see who can post an injury the quickest. That's it. Read it or don't read it... For me, I no longer care what injuries are posted, since it is old news. I just tune in to read DH and his entertaining posts. I finally get him. The man is lonely and is polarizing. Love him or hate him, his posts are utterly pathetic, to a point that he actually has become entertaining. :D

Oh, I get it. A bunch of guys posting injury news to help everyone is too much like Communism. That's bad.

Hard work to benefit yourself shouldn't be shared, right? That's Capitalism at it's finest.
