Let me preface this post by saying I have no favorite team and no players I like or dislike. I enjoy fantasy sports and gambling. All I care about when it comes to baseball is winning money. So I'm not "hating" on Harper because of any personal agenda.
I get why Bryce Harper is hyped in reality. But for fantasy baseball how can he be considered anything more than an fourth OF?
I was shocked that some "experts" touted him as a first rounder. He may eventually get there but at this point I think there is at least a possibility that he never becomes more than a slightly above average OF offensively. In a season long re draft league why invest and gamble on him all of a sudden realizing his potential.
Khris Davis has been far more impressive to me and if both are healthy I would much rather draft him where I can get him than reach for Harper.
I hope he gets hyped into the first round again next year. There is money to be made by simply fading him.
Somehow it seems everyone has been tricked into drinking the kool aid but this is his third year and granted he has been injured this year, but he is no where near earning fifth round value, much less first round.
Why Bryce Harper?
