Anyone think J.P. Arencibia is anything more than a placeholder until Texas makes a trade? I guess they do not see Robinson Chirinos as a real option either. Who they gonna trade for?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

texas will be sellers. no trade for a catcher. nice job by the pres/gm daniels since he ousted ryan.

I don't see Texas as a buyer or seller. The pieces are in place for a run next season -- no need to dismantle. Maybe deal Soria but that's it.

Yes, that was the basis for my question. I just do not think Arencibia will cut it any better at first than he did at catcher. Has anyone considered Texas is trying to spark interest in Arencibia so they can unload his contract?
All he needs is a hot streak of power before the deadline and some team might bite.

He's in his arb yrs. If they don't want him next yr, they can just non-tender him. They wouldn't get much more than a bag of balls for him, even with a hot streak.Deadheadz wrote:
