We all have seen stats to signify that pitchers are ruling baseball.
Well....Pitchers, the shifts, specialization, the slider, matchups, decline of PEDS, the hitters not caring about striking out, more of 'all or nothing hitters'....whatever reason, pitchers are having their way.
Making it more incredible is that so many pitchers are being lost to Tommy John surgeries. So hitters are actually seeing some starters who should be in the minor leagues.
Anyway....
Here is a stat that will blow your socks off....
In the 2006 NFBC Overall Standings, 156 teams of 330 teams, or almost half the teams, had a yearly batting average of .280 or more.
In 2014, three, just three teams have a batting average of .280
A .260 average, once considered mediocre by Major League standards is now the average in the NFBC.
AND, we are cherry picking the Major Leagues best players for our rosters and lineups!
A box score of 4-0-1-0 could actually help a category if things continue as they are.
Conversely, in 2006, the lowest ERA in the NFBC for the year was 3.58
In 2014, an E.R.A. of 3.58 gets you 191st place in the Overall.

Re: Pitching SABRMETRICS? No, It's DOMINATRICS
The hitters became too good and they raised the pitchers mound. The pitchers became too good and they lowered the pitching mound. The game continues to change without the approval of fantasy players. How dare them!
