It really surprised me to see zero interest in Caleb Joseph on FAAB yesterday after a crazy week of HRs by the Orioles catcher.
Does everyone think he's had his hot streak and now will be cold the rest of the season? Or is it that we're seeing a lot of fantasy players gearing up for the NFFC season and not paying much attention to streaks?
Sure, he's not a great player but all season long we see guys who get hot get their FAAB bid up, so why is Joseph different?
Fascinating.

24 main event teams picked him up yesterday, that's a pretty good amount of interest I think.

Agreed.
I think besides Fiers, he was the most bid on player of the week.

In the minors for 7 years with a career .268 BA. An average of 10 HRs per year. Even after the big week, he is batting .228. Once you get to this time of the season, you are talking about the value of a player for a month and a half. My guess would be that 75% of the teams in the main events, have less than $150 left in FAAB. What were you expecting, a $300 bid? The fact that so many teams picked him up this week, even though he has been active for half the season shows you that no one saw this coming and very few see it continuing. Javier Baez, if available, was the only guy deserving of an all out bid and he is a top prospect with a track record.

About the only catcher I have been following is Andrew Susac so I can pray my players are running against him.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Joseph went for $9 in my Primetime, the next bid was $1
He went for $1 in my Online Championship with no other bids.
Maybe he's too risky for 12-teamers.
