Joey Votto

Post by Edwards Kings » Fri Oct 31, 2014 9:14 am

"Reds activated 1B Joey Votto from the 60-day disabled list. Votto was limited to just 62 games this season due to a distal quad strain. He'll be a bit of an injury red flag heading into the 2015 campaign."

In other news, Votto was late to an important meeting. When he finally arrived, he told reporters "I was going to drive, but I much prefer to take a walk."

Right, Dan?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

In my best Chris Berman when he says, "Nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills!"
NOBODY TAKES A WALK LIKE JOEY VOTTO!

Votto was taken in the fifth round of the early drafts. About right, I guess, for a guy who prefer a walk over an rbi and is now wearing an injury prone label.
I told a friend the other day that we have seen the best of Joey Votto.
He replied, "What if he takes steroids?"
I had to laugh.
One of the benefits of some steroids is improved vision.
Improving Votto's walking prowess exponentially.
Joey Votto is a very good player, but he would be a GREAT umpire! :D
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
