$250 dc auction
Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (9 spots open)
Considering this league but need more info. Where can I find league rules on this league setup? I've done live private-league auctions but not online and wonder how the technical process would work. At risk of sounding dumb, some of my questions are:
1) How are players nominated?
2) How long do you have from the last bid to being declared? (I assume the auctioneer is a computer-timed robot)
3) Is the 27 round slow draft afterwards still done on couchmanagers? Same rules as usual - 8 hours, etc?
4) What if you run out of money? What's the budget again? If you have $1 left are you guaranteed a player?
5) How long does the draft typically take? Starting at 7pm ET, I'm hoping it's done by midnight. But you may reply "then this isn't for you, we're going all night!"
Thanks

Other than the auction part, it would run as a standalone nfbc $250 DC satellite.tslive wrote:Considering this league but need more info. Where can I find league rules on this league setup? 1) I haven't used the site yet, but it looks pretty standard ... nominate from player list or queue, 30-60 seconds to nominate after last player is completed. Order does not snake.
2) 30 seconds first bid, 15-20 seconds thereafter.
3) nfbc site, 8 hr slow
4) you can't, $260, must have legal roster after 23 rds
5) probably midnight, give or take, if technical issues are minimal; spend fast and furious and you can leave early ☻

Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (9 spots open)
Can I get into this $250 auction on the 9th?
Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (9 spots open)
Ok thanks, I'll do the 7pm at January 9th. Do I get sent a link or something? I noticed couchmanagers requires $3 sign-up and not sure how to navigate. [email protected] (Tom Stevens)
With approval I will sign up online tomorrow.

Go to the NFBC signup site, scroll down list to $250 DC Auction (PRIVATE) to signup/pay. I will create the auction room on couchmanagers.com if it looks like the league will fill. After the auction room is created I'll post a link here then PM the password to those on the list below. Signup is free on couchmanagers.

Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (6 spots open)
Nomination order doesnt mean much ... not sure when draft order for reserve rounds will be decided.
We'll start early today if everyone shows up early. So far 11 of 15 are in the room.

Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (6 spots open)
thanks for trying KJ (and everyone else). Huge bummer we couldnt pull this off tonight. i can't see myself joining again unless it's iron clad the auction site will work
Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (6 spots open)
we have to figure out how to commish it.
rtsports worked fine last year but todd had commish rights
i took informal pool and 6 or 7 guys said sunday around 7 est would work for them

Agree Gek, that site is not set up for a regular baseball auction. I won't do an auction there either.Gekko wrote:thanks for trying KJ (and everyone else). Huge bummer we couldnt pull this off tonight. i can't see myself joining again unless it's iron clad the auction site will work
I've used different sites and never seen anything like that with the lack of commish controls and automated nominations and bidding. CBS hasn't started their commish yet for the season, I will check with other sites to see if anything can accomodate.
Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (6 spots open)
used cbs a few years ago. It was awful. Won't do it again.
Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (6 spots open)
Like I said not an option anyway. Ditto for ESPN which also hasnt launched commish yet.Vander wrote:used cbs a few years ago. It was awful. Won't do it again.

Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (6 spots open)
I'd suggest the earliest that all 15 can do it Sunday (i.e. 5 or 6pm)
Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (6 spots open)
also i am finding commish options on rt sports KJ...I believe we can work with it
Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (6 spots open)
Later in the season all of these sites launch a commish product. None have it yet, including RT, so for now there is no way to control an auction without commish controls.76erfan wrote:KJ I was able to track the following down for a yes to sunday at 7 pm est(but willing to start a little earlier)

The only possible way I can see to do this effectively would be the old-fashioned way, in chat with a moderator, until the commish products launch which probably won't be until February. And it sounds like many or most owners aren't setup to do that for now.
Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (6 spots open)
How about everyone flys out to San Diego on Sunday? We can do it in my living room.

Re: $250 Draft Champion Auction #2 (6 spots open)
there are commish options...see screen shot. I am going to test it out. RT sports

This is Ken. I can do Sunday at 7.
We may need to just do it by chat however.

Guys - let me know if you need some help with this. My schedule is tight bit I MAY be able to lend a hand and oversee like I did last year. RTS set me up with a special account - not sure if that's now readily available.
