Cooperstown January 24, 2015
Next Saturday, January 24th, will be the 12th consecutive journey to the baseball mecca of the world, Cooperstown. A good number of us have made the trip each January, the Saturday before the Super Bowl. The Hall is not packed and we enjoy walking through, enjoying the exhibits and talking about the upcoming season and our hopes and dreams for the coming fantasy season. Only two of us have made the trek each of the 12 years, myself and good friend, Bob Saxton.
If anyone would like to join us, wee arrive at approximately 9:00 AM and enjoy breakfast at the Doubleday restaurant. We then head to the Hall where we enjoy everything it has to offer until around noon. We then head to Sal's Pizzeria for a great lunch. We then go back to the Hall for a few more hours ending walking through and enjoying the plaques. We head back home around 4:00 PM.
The journey from Rochester takes approximately three hours plus; 170 miles. If you're in driving distance, please join us next Saturday!!!! Again, this started 12 years ago with a group of CDM fantasy fanatics!!

I've never been. I was thinking this summer when Pedro goes in plus a day at the track. Over Christmas, I was in Batavia for 2 weeks. May have drove by your house a couple of times as I went to a couple of Malls in Rochester.Lunatic wrote:Next Saturday, January 24th, will be the 12th consecutive journey to the baseball mecca of the world, Cooperstown. Damn Shawn, you probably did drive bear my house; if one of the malls was called Greece Ridge (the worst of our malls). The best is called Eastview in Victor, NY. Wish I would have known. Magner never comes near Rochester because he is afraid of the snow.

This past June we took a family trip. The first stop on the trip was Rochester,NY. We went there to see/tour the University of Rochester. It's a beautiful campus and a very fine school. My oldest of 3 daughters is a junior in HS and this school is on her list of potential options.Lunatic wrote:Next Saturday, January 24th, will be the 12th consecutive journey to the baseball mecca of the world, Cooperstown. We then went to Cooperstown. It was my first trip to the HOF. We got there around lunch time and we ate at Sal's before going into the Hall. We then spent the afternoon touring the Hall. It's was great. And it wasn't crowded at all, there couldn't have been more than 50 people in the whole place. After seeing the HOF and then walking over to Doubleday Field, we ate dinner at the Doubleday Restaurant.
It was a good day!

Russell, the University of Rochester is first class; I am sure you saw the newly constructed "College Town" which had been in the works for 20 plus years. The addition of College Town has greatly helped to promote the University of Rochester. Your daughter could not go wrong choosing this university.
