Put a fork in Nathan or does he hold off Soria?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Nope. Our show is Wednesday nights from 10 ET to Midnight. However, Greg and I appear weekly on the RotoWire show on Monday mornings and Greg is on every Thursday for a segment on The Drive with Kyle Elfrink and Ray Flowers.76erfan wrote:you guys have a thursday night show too?

Enough at bats for you to go in on Pederson even if the Dodgers don't get anyone to take Ethier off their hands?

Cliff Lee will be 37 before Labor Day. Forgetting wins, are you banking that he will fully bounce back from flexor pronator strain to be Cliff of 2013?

Again, I'm not trying to be an a-- about this, but I'm concerned that eventually this is going to catch up to some folks in our industry. It's being done Wayne as a benefit to the players, who by just buying more teams with that contest it saves you 30% each time. Who wouldn't do that if allowed? But we haven't found an accountant or a lawyer who says that's legal and yet top game operators are doing that. I hope DFS companies aren't doing that because with the amount of money they are handing out these days the IRS would definitely get involved.Edwards Kings wrote:This surprises me. I am not a tax accountant, but as long as you have constructive receipt (you won the money and no one else has a claim on the funds), I would think the full amount won during the year would be reportable.Greg Ambrosius wrote:Please help me out with this because I'm trying very hard to understand this in our industry. what position do you think has the most scarecity from a fantasy perspective? in other words...what is just not deep enough and you always find yourself settling for someone marginal unless you focus on getting an elite guy there early?

I'm on with Kyle and Ray every Thursday at 7:30 pm ET now to talk about our ADPs. It's just one segment, but it would likely get in the way of an auction start time.76erfan wrote:you guys have a thursday night show too?

Re: Live Chat Today: 3 pm ET With Greg & Tom
I grabbed him late in the FSTA Draft in January, hoping that he would make the starting rotation. I was bummed when I saw the news he was going back to the 8th inning role. I understand why the Giants want him there, but damn those last 8 starts or so were magical. This guy should be in the rotation. Bummer.Edwards Kings wrote:How many teams will Mark have Petit on this year?Gekko wrote:Do you think Y.petit will blue ball his owners this year.?He looks like the Giants SP7 (worse if you count any of the SF minor league SP) and Bochy is on record saying he likes him in the long reliever role and that's where he's gonna stay

Catcher stinks this year like always. MI doesn't look all that great either. But with catchers I tend to scramble every year because I typically don't pay for one of the top options and then comes the run and the 5-6 guys everyone really wants are gone and I'm staring at the Miguel Montero's of the world.76erfan wrote:what position do you think has the most scarecity from a fantasy perspective? in other words...what is just not deep enough and you always find yourself settling for someone marginal unless you focus on getting an elite guy there early?

I've got Tulo burns on my butt from drafting him so many times with Childs!!Edwards Kings wrote:Do you buy-in on the "Tulo plus whomever replaces him when he gets hurt equals 1st round pick" or would you let him slide to Childs?

Not only did he play less than 100 games last year (although an MVP candidate before then), there's now the concern that the Rockies could trade him. If he leaves Coors Field, look out. His value would really drop.

If your industry group does not want to engage the IRS directly (and I can certainly understand why), I would get the opinion of an ex-IRS accountant who is now in private practice (if you have not already done so). The only safe course is to get an formal IRS ruling on the topic, but in doing so you would be throwing back the curtain.Greg Ambrosius wrote:Again, I'm not trying to be an a-- about this, but I'm concerned that eventually this is going to catch up to some folks in our industry. Re: Live Chat Today: 3 pm ET With Greg & Tom
Chris Liss took him 135th in the FSTA Draft in January, which shocked me. His NFBC ADP is 218. I don't see enough at-bats yet to warrant that, but if he has a good spring and owns center field it could happen. I love young hitters, but those damn PCL numbers are tough to gauge and project for 2015. He probably would go off the board before I'd take him, but I agree that he could be a worthy pick if all goes right.Edwards Kings wrote:Enough at bats for you to go in on Pederson even if the Dodgers don't get anyone to take Ethier off their hands?

With Rollins and Kendrick up the middle, wither thou goest Alex Guerrero or do the Dodgers basically eat another $7m while he resides in Oklahoma City?

That hurts just reading about that injury. His skill set works for his age, so anything is possible and since he's like the 45th SP going off the board I could see value in a modest return. He was rather healthy the six years prior to last season, so sure, I can see a full recovery and bounceback. I have no problem with someone grabbing him as their SP4 and hoping for 2010 numbers.Edwards Kings wrote:Cliff Lee will be 37 before Labor Day. Re: Live Chat Today: 3 pm ET With Greg & Tom
As Tom said, if you do enough drafts you'll see just how bad Catcher is this year. I mean, if you get past 10 and can find someone who won't hurt you in BA you'll be lucky. There's some potential C's after 10 in Travis d'Arnaud and maybe Yasmany Grandal, but yikes it's rough. Don't get two catchers that will kill your BA and get 400+ ABs. That would be rough.76erfan wrote:what position do you think has the most scarecity from a fantasy perspective? in other words...what is just not deep enough and you always find yourself settling for someone marginal unless you focus on getting an elite guy there early?

Archie Bradley for me. I saw him pitch in the Arizona Fall League's Rising Stars All-Star Game and that guy just looked like an MLB pitcher. I mean the good size, the solid delivery, the fastball, it all looked right. Putting the numbers next to seeing this guy throw was enough for me. I'd be very surprised if this guy isn't a staff ace in a couple of years.Edwards Kings wrote:Pick one...Archie Bradley, Dylan Bundy, or Noah Snydergaard? Why?

Let's say he is the biggest jerk in baseball, but Everth Cabrera stole more than 80 bases in 2012 and 2013. How long until someone picks him up and who do you think takes the chance? Toronto, San Francisco, Tampa, or.....?

Well, he has no role in Los Angeles, right? The Dodgers did everything they could to keep him out of a middle infield spot this year and maybe his ear-biting incident plus poor September showing had something to do with that. If he can't play third base, then the Dodgers either need to trade him or eat that $7 million in Triple-A again. The good news: He has only two more years after this with $14 million total owed.Edwards Kings wrote:With Rollins and Kendrick up the middle, wither thou goest Alex Guerrero or do the Dodgers basically eat another $7m while he resides in Oklahoma City?

Re: Live Chat Today: 3 pm ET With Greg & Tom
Yes, I should start a thread on this because people are asking about it and some folks have even deposited money in their accounts, thinking that works. It doesn't. You need to have the special code from Fanduel and they can't give us that until the contract is done. They will be back to sponsor the NCAA Viewing Party in Las Vegas and to do the $100 off your NFBC entry promotion. We're just finishing the contract for this and will mention this soon. It's all good and we'll be working with them again for baseball and likely football this year. They are an impressive company and everyone there had a BUSY football season, so we started on our deal a little later than usual. But we'll have it done before payments are due in mid-February, so look for that announcement soon enough. It's a great way for you folks to save some money, so take advantage of it. Plus we hope to have some NFBC/Fanduel weekly contests with the prize of an NFBC Main Event entry as the lure. Should be fun.Happenstance wrote:Will there be any sponsorship/deals from FanDuel again this year?

Re: Live Chat Today: 3 pm ET With Greg & Tom
He's gone unsigned since San Diego cut bait on him and it looks like Toronto could take a chance on him, moving him to second base. That could be a speedy middle infield with Reyes and Cabrera!! He's not a bad flyer in Draft Champions Leagues. When looking for speed options, why not?Edwards Kings wrote:Let's say he is the biggest jerk in baseball, but Everth Cabrera stole more than 80 bases in 2012 and 2013. Early World Series predictions? Should we just pencil in the Nats at this point?
