Just an FYI: We had one draft that started after the news of V-Mart's knee surgery and he went 58th in that league. We'll keep an eye on where he goes in these next drafts and post here. Interestingly, his ADP was 36 at the time of the announcement and in two drafts that started the day before the news he went 28th and 29th. He was definitely starting to go earlier in the third round and even the second round, but this news will knock him down a few rounds.

Heck, USA Today posted yesterday that they dropped him 100 spots to 164th!!! That would be the case if he misses months, but not if he can return in April. We'll learn more in the coming weeks, but this is definitely an interesting development.

Rendon at 7th overall in a recent draft? ok this madness has to stop. when i first started tracking the adp it seemed like he was a mid round 2 pick which i thought made him interesting. now the 2nd year man has an adp just under pick 13. mostly ive been seeing him picked in the 8-12 range.

nobody was expecting the homers, even less so the steals. reasonable K rate and he looks like he won't hurt you with average, but I'm having a hard time thinking about drafting him til later and I'm wondering why the huge love? is he just a new shiny car that everyone has to have? do people really think that the hrs and steals stay this year? I certainly see more reason to take him in the top 15 than altuve.

He is eligible there and thus he should be listed there. Furthermore every player that has multi position eligibility should have those positions listed in the parentheses after each player. Agreed. Rendon is a second round pick for sure. 15/15 can be had a lot latter in the draft. In fact, second round might be too early for this guy. Seen him go 3rd overall earlier in the year I believe. Lots of love for him or maybe confusion.

I've wanted Rendon in all of my DC leagues this season but when I had the KDS slot of 13 and 11 I missed out on him both times in round 1.
Since then I've been asking for KDS slot 8 and got it every time. And every time I've picked Rendon because I believe he's worth it. If I thought I could get him in round 2 I would wait, but I see that I can't and I take him where he is available.

Yes, he's multi eligible at 2B and 3B which is listed in the draft room as well as the position eligibility page and the player page. AFAIK there are no multi positions listed in ADP. But you will see him on both the 2B list and the 3B list.

Our new draft room does list every position that a player is eligible at. I'll see if he will be listed in the ADP that way as well. Right now we just list each player at the position they played the most games at, but I agree listing that player in all eligible positions would be ideal for everyone.

Here's a couple of interesting trends that I just tweeted out:

** There's been renewed love for Prince Fielder this past week. His NFBC ADP is 66, but it's been 57.8 the last 6 drafts; highest pick of 49.

** In the 5 NFBC drafts since Victor Martinez injured his knee, his ADP has been 85.6. It was 36 before the injury and he had gone 28th and 29th the two previous drafts. He's gone as low as 107 recently.

** James Shields has gone 84th, 87th and 99th in NFBC drafts since his signing with San Diego. His ADP before that was 99.0. He's on the rise.

** NFBC owners are strongly behind Jose Fernandez's comeback from Tommy John surgery as his ADP is 209. Can he return value with June return? Interestingly, Matt Moore had TJS about the same time as Fernandez, yet his NFBC ADP is 411. No faith in Matt's comeback..or control.

The news out of today's surgery for Victor Martinez was positive, so it will be interesting again to see where he goes in future drafts. Some folks may have gotten a bargain in the last week, but we'll see:

Victor Martinez Has Successful Knee Surgery

FEBRUARY 10: The news out of the surgery was positive, with Detroit announcing that Dr. James Andrews performed a successful medial menisectomy on Martinez’s left knee that will leave the star DH able to “resume full activity in 4-6 weeks.” GM Dave Dombrowski expressed that he expects Martinez to be ready to go at the start of the season.

The club had been advised that the timeline for recovery would not be known until after the procedure was started. With the time missed now expected to land on the lighter side, it would appear that the Tigers will not need to find a temporary replacement for Martinez.

When I see Mike Trout picked first in EVERY draft, I've got to wonder.....is he really that much more of a sure thing than some of these other guys. Isn't there anyone out there who thinks outside the box and would go in a different direction.

Someone brought up a good point earlier in regards to Trout, there are probably owners who would pick someone else #1 and if your are on of those guys then the only logical move is to put the #1 spot as your last KDS preference since it will be a wasted spot if you are not taking Trout #1

Also, with any other pick besides one, it is possible to get any player.
Trout is limited to just 1 in 15. Some just want to see how they would do in starting a draft with Trout, since opportunity is limited.
