The pace of DC 4 hour #1 is amazing, draft started 6 hours ago and we are at pick 9.11 already.

24 hours in and we are at the top of round 17
Re: 9 Spots Left: $150 4-Hour Draft Champions 2
Just bumping this thread back to the top. If this doesn't fill up soon, I guess I'll have to pull out of this one and take my chances on the 8 hour draft!
Re: 9 Spots Left: $150 4-Hour Draft Champions 2
I'll probably jump into this one if we finish up #1 by the end of the weekend. Shouldn't be a problem as we are in round 31.

This format is a significantly more enjoyable experience than the standard 'snail' draft. You do need to have some mid-day ability to be on your phone or otherwise in the draft room though so not for everyone I suppose.
I hope this becomes a more visible and known option for DC participants. I know it's going to be hard for me to go back to the slower version after having experienced this one.
Maybe the expectations for drafting 'within minutes' can be softened somewhat (but still have a stated expectation of 8-10 rounds per day) so if there are any owners on the fence about being able to keep up feel a bit more comfortable with it. Even in this very quick moving draft we have had several multi-hour delays due to life/work events and no one has gotten too bent out of shape about it.
Anyways - what an awesome addition to an already nearly perfect format. I love DCs, even more now

Re: 12 Spots Left: $150 4-Hour Draft Champions 2
.
I'm noticing the list for DCx4-2 has been shrinking. Probably managers who were interested but not happy to wait until it fills because they want to draft starting "tomorrow" the way the 8-hour DCs are filling up so fast.
What we will probably see is the list grow rapidly once the currently running DCx4 wraps up. It won't surprise me to see 1/3 or more of the current league roll over into the next one since it was so enjoyable.
Once the list hits 11+ you should see those other guys jump back in after they realize why they were avoiding the snail drafts in the first place.
Happy Valentine's to anyone who "loves" Roto.

Wish that I had signed up for a fast/slow. Currently in a slow/crawl (day 4 / 8 rounds not yet complete). This is a killer.
Re: 12 Spots Left: $150 4-Hour Draft Champions 2
I think #1 is going to finish up today so I'm signing up for this one. Can't believe more people aren't lining up for this version, it is so much more enjoyable.

Re: 8 Spots Left: $150 4-Hour Draft Champions 2
Any theories on why these 4-hour DCs have been so slow to fill? It seemed like there was a big demand (at least on the boards) for this option, but, so far, not as much interest in actually joining them. Maybe some folks are "drafted out" right now, or maybe most just prefer a more leisurely draft pace? Anyway, I'm excited to jump in this one and hopefully we'll get it going before too long...

Re: 8 Spots Left: $150 4-Hour Draft Champions 2
People get impatient waiting for this one to fill and in fact we've had 4 people leave this league to go into a regular $150 DC because signups were too slow here. But this league will still get done sooner than the other ones, so a little patience will pay off. We'll get this one filled up this week and it will be done before you know it.Le Grand Orange wrote:Any theories on why these 4-hour DCs have been so slow to fill? The ones who asked for this format are letting others sign up for these, I guess.

Is it safe to say the regular DCs fill up faster because the signups include people who don't visit the message board and don't see the DCx4hr listed on the Contest Seat Availability page for Draft Champions leagues?
I had kept my name off the list in order to give another "facilitator type" to jump in first and also because I expected to be involved in the fast-paced $500 DC Auction reserve round draft. We're hearing it'll be a couple of days before that begins so please add my name to the list for this DCx4 and perhaps the 'dead money' will attract more signups.
Let's fill it today and start it tomorrow guys!

With all the complaining and whining about people taking too long to draft i thought these things would fill up quicker. I would do one but there is no way to tell when it's going to fill. at least with the 8 hour DC's you can kind of predict when they will start.

It may fill before you get the chance if you wait too long.
