Add Jansen to the list of players that drafters will overreact to creating value.

So far the following have taken a hit to their ADP without any certainty of missed playing time:

VMart
LuCroy
Harvey
Hamilton
Tanaka

I'm sure I'm missing about 5 or 6.

It is important when drafting to be wary of injury risks but not be so risk adverse as to miss out on undervalued players.

I think VMart belongs with Prince Fielder and Joey Votto in the tier of 1B that go in rounds 5-6 after the guys like Pujols and Adrian Gonzalez are picked off the 1B list but before average sinkers like Chris Davis and Mark Trumbo go. They may be value picks, but they could also have recurring injuries.

Harvey and Tanaka should be going after the 2nd wave of SP dries up. I don't think they should go ahead of solid SP like Teheran, Sonny Gray, or James Shields, but they often do.

Hamilton might miss a chunk of time, and had shoulder surgery so his power/bat speed may be weaker if/when he comes back. He's an over-rated and over-priced Michael Cuddyer at this point.

Jansen will be like Aroldis Chapman last year- people stayed away but he came back and was great

I don't care about LuCroy- someone else always drafts him way too early and wants to hoard catchers and shortstops, so he's always gone before I consider a catcher.

There is no telling what Hamilton's previous lifestyle choices has done to his body. Wouldn't be surprised if he retires soon. I don't have him projected for more than 400 AB.
