A couple years ago Joba was Betances ... then he fall apart and now is hoping to get a middle relief job at the old age of 29. Dellin is a speculation relative to the top few closers ... and while he could be better than some several tiers down from there, he also has less job security than many of them. Pick your risk tolerance, there are no right answers at this stage.
But wasn't Joba's fall due to the Yankees trying to return him to the rotation? I don't see that happening with Betances.

And while Joba was being tabbed as the heir apparent to Mariano at one point, he never got the gig as Betances seems to have. I think the Yankees still have that debacle in their minds and won't screw with him the same way they did with Joba.

Additionally, Joba's success was before his injuries and subsequent surgeries. He never made it back. Betances success is post surgery.

It strikes me as a completely different set of circumstances, although can't completely discount the same end result
Duke loves Betances. don't let his post trick you. he's locked and loaded on him. i'll make him pay up in the AL auction too

Some Yankee truther will be along in a while to claim the Joba Rules never existed.
