I'll start with him in this event and I added Johnny Estrada in the 19th round for his average. Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

[/QUOTE]Estrada will catch most of the time in Milwaukee. Miller is done and will catch 40+ games at best. If he stays healthy, Estrada will catch 120+ games as Milwaukee's primary catcher.

Hey Greg,

What happened to the one round per day?

We are a few behind. Yeah! What gives? If you leave me nothing to do or prepare with, I'll have to actually go out with my fiance and do some more Christmas shopping!

Please post the rounds, so I'll have something to look over while I'm stuck sitting on the mall bench waiting 30 minutes for her to come out of Macy's with NOTHING!!! On to the next store...30 more minutes, NOTHING again...

And, yes, I did make comments about coming out empty handed...was told to go in and look...come out 5 minutes later with...NOTHING...line was too long! :D

Guess I should count my blessings...

As for the draft, I was surprised at how high Robinson Cano was drafted (3rd pick in 5th round.)

Not that I don't think he can produce, but I was hoping with his injuries, he'd fall to about 10th round for me.

It looks like there are currently pitching bargains or busts being taken in rounds 9-10...Gagne, Schilling, Harden...either anchors or duds...either way, I bet the overall winner in '07 hits on an "ace" in round 8-11.

Thanks for posting. Bad luck on the Rivera pick... Some interesting value here - Beltre, Beckett, etc.. could easily outperform

Happy Holidays and New Year to all

Thank you for the quick response. Some interesting picks here. You see owners beginning to take a little more risk. I like Broxton, but not sure if he will close YET! He will, just maybe not this year. He's going to be good and as LA fan, I'm glad they didn't trade him.

I picked out of the 4 hole- would appreciate any insight in to what people like/dislike about my team through 15 rounds.

Was that my boy Johnny Gomes at Round 15?

NICE!

I love the pick. My prediction. - .260-30-90-10 - Yeah, he needs to be healthy but they're already entertaining the idea of playing him at 1st base which means they WANT to give him as many at-bats as possible. He has already said his shoulder is 100%. Forget his 2nd half stats, he was playing with pain. Big time sleeper, takes balls to draft him especially with big time opposition.

Much respect.
"Hit a home run - put your head down, drop the bat, run around the bases, because the name on the front is more - a lot more important than the name on the back."

I picked out of the 4 hole- would appreciate any insight in to what people like/dislike about my team through 15 rounds.Chest, want to make sure I have the right players for you...ran through the list quickly...

1. A. Rod

2. V. Wells

3. P. Konerko

4. B. Roberts

5. T. Hoffman

6. A. Rios

7. C. Sabathia

8. D. Haren

9. O. Cabrera

10. C. Schilling

11. A. Pierzynski

12. J. Francouer

13. A. Sanchez

14. L. Castillo

15. C. Jackson

If so, my humble opinion would be...

Hitting - very nice power base (ARod, Wells and Konerko should be good for more than 110 between them...Konerko is up and down avg wise, but you have some guys who will post positive batting averages ...at first glance, your SB seemed to be lacking, but when looking again, it's not that bad. (I will say, I don't like Brian Roberts...he's good player and will help you, I just don't like him in 4th RD. I had Cabrera in about same round last year. He's very streaky, but solid overall...his SBs will also help...Jackson was nice pick up 15 as he has lots of potential, next year, he won't fall this low...Rios is an absolute steal after the 4th round and he fell to you near end of round 6.

What I don't like about your hitting...Pierzynski and Francouer in 11 and 12th rds. AJ is good for avg and Francouer has some power, but to me, Francouer is due for let down...sort of like Gomes last year...

Pitching- Hoffman is good closer, old and reliable, always outperforms most closers. Very solid closer base. Schilling is a great value pick in round 10, will give wins, k's good (but not great era and whips) If Sabathia is healthy, he is also great frontline guy...not sure if I would have taken him in RD 7. (I see you missed Brett Myers by 1 pick - who I like a lot more.) I had Haren last year. Looks like he will be a very solid guy also. I do think Sanchez was a reach in round 13. Has great potential, but also chance for slumping at young age. I'm not sure how his arm will hold up over full season.

Hindsight is always 20-20 and I've never finished better than 150/151 overall, but IMHO, rounds 11,12, and 13 would have been better for you if you had taken a more reliable player in them, such as

11. P B. Zito

12. 2B I. Kinsler

13. OF N. Markakis or 3B E. Encarnacion

Of course, this is knowing Zito is in SF, but I would trust him more than Sanchez. Kinsler is just a personal "sleeper," who I think will break out...Sanchez may do the same as P. I also like Markakis and Encarnacion much more than Francoeur.

Overall, I think you have a very solid foundation (and with my suggestions, you would still need a C which could come back to hurt you.)

I was also in this draft , had the 1st pick, if anyone , and poppy want to take a look at it , go right ahead.

CHEST, my opinions

LIKE your top three , but ROBERTS in the 4th round isnt my guy, i know steals are hard to get, but just too many studs aviable after you took ROBERTS.

Im also a RIOS guy, but the 6th round sounds about right.

I like SABBATHIA , and HAREN, and pitching seem to go high in this draft, i grabbed both these guys last year in the 10th round.THE 8th and 9th rounds would have been better .

Dont like Cabrera in the 9th, has a lot of upside, but just as much downside, BEDARD who went in the 10th round would have been a safer choice.

Schilling in the 10th is nice.

Pierzynski in the 11th seems right, catchers are hard to get.

Francouer is someone i like, 29 homers 103 rbi's and 651 at bats at his age, i only see more.

Just my opinions.
