Re: 6 Main Event Spots Left For 2015

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Mar 20, 2015 8:49 am

We are SO HAPPY to welcome back Josh Honeycutt to the NFBC Main Event. Josh was Jon Stadtmueller's partner in many events including the Ultimate Auction League when they got Mike Trout for $1!!! Needless to say, they won that $40,000 league prize. But Josh was starting up a new business last year and couldn't make it back to the NFBC last year. He's itching to get back to Las Vegas and will do that next year, but he's back for the Main Event Online right now. Unfortunately, he can only do Thursday, April 2nd Online, so we'll add him to that tentative list and see where it takes us. We're at 414 Main Event teams now, but four of those guys are hoping for one last Main Event Online on Thursday, April 2nd. Here's what we have left now:

5 Spots Left In Saturday, March 28th 1 pm ET Main Event Online
5 Spots Left In Saturday, April 4th 1 pm ET New York Main Event

We will try for one more league Online during the week as well since some owners are already signed up before we hit 420:
11 Spots Left In Thursday, April 1st, 8 pm ET Main Event Online

There's no guarantee that we'll fill those spots, but we realize that not everyone can draft on First Weekend or in New York City, so we'll keep this option open for now. Don't wait much longer if you want a spot in this year's Main Event because as you can see they are going fast this week. Thanks all and good luck.

NOW ONLY 5 GUARANTEED SPOTS LEFT IN THE 2015 NFBC MAIN EVENT!!

We're happy to welcome back NFBC Charter Member and 2007 NFBC Main Event overall champion Terry Haney back to this year's signature event. Terry is back for his 12th straight season in the Main Event and we couldn't be happier. He was hoping to draft in Las Vegas again this year, but something came up that is keeping him at home. That's fine as he grabbed one of the last spots in the March 28th Main Event Online. Let's fill that one up this weekend and get draft spots with everyone else on Monday morning. Thanks all and good luck.

Here's a look at the spots that are left and if those owners who are signed up on April 2nd don't take them then it's first-come first serve on March 28th and in New York City:

4 Spots Left In Saturday, March 28th 1 pm ET Main Event Online
5 Spots Left In Saturday, April 4th 1 pm ET New York Main Event

We will try for one more league Online during the week as well since some owners are already signed up before we hit 420:
11 Spots Left In Thursday, April 1st, 8 pm ET Main Event Online

There's no guarantee that we'll fill those spots, but we realize that not everyone can draft on First Weekend or in New York City, so we'll keep this option open for now. Don't wait much longer if you want a spot in this year's Main Event because as you can see they are going fast this week. Thanks all and good luck.

NOW ONLY 3 SPOTS LEFT FOR THE MARCH 28TH MAIN EVENT ONLINE!!!

Patrick Gallagher grabbed one of the last spots in the Saturday, March 28th Main Event Online at 1 pm ET as we're now getting closer to a third full league there. Patrick is in several drafts already this year, so this seemed like a natural one to add. Welcome aboard Patrick.

Okay, here's what is left. Can we hit 420 teams yet today? Wow, what a great run everyone:

3 Spots Left In Saturday, March 28th 1 pm ET Main Event Online
5 Spots Left In Saturday, April 4th 1 pm ET New York Main Event

We will try for one more league Online during the week as well since some owners are already signed up before we hit 420:
11 Spots Left In Thursday, April 1st, 8 pm ET Main Event Online

There's no guarantee that we'll fill those spots, but we realize that not everyone can draft on First Weekend or in New York City, so we'll keep this option open for now. WE'RE NOW AT 417 MAIN EVENT TEAMS!!!

Mark Wigent returns to the NFBC Main Event this year, but he can only do Thursday, April 2nd Online, so we'll add him to that list and keep pushing for these last guaranteed spots. We keep saying that this extra April 2nd Main Event Online isn't guaranteed, but folks are pushing our hand to reach 435 this year. Let's see what happens down the stretch here, but this is starting to get fun!!!

Here's the remaining guaranteed spots:

3 Spots Left In Saturday, March 28th 1 pm ET Main Event Online
5 Spots Left In Saturday, April 4th 1 pm ET New York Main Event

We will try for one more league Online during the week as well since some owners are already signed up before we hit 420:
10 Spots Left In Thursday, April 1st, 8 pm ET Main Event Online

WE'RE NOW AT 418 MAIN EVENT TEAMS!!!

This is getting crazy everyone!! We have another owner who has signed up for the Thursday, April 2nd Main Event Online, so that one is looking more and more like a reality!! We still have to fill up this March 28th Main Event Online first and then the New York April 4th Main Event, but it looks like 435 could happen. Let's see how it plays out if nobody else can move to these other leagues.

Here's what we have left:

Here's the remaining guaranteed spots:

3 Spots Left In Saturday, March 28th 1 pm ET Main Event Online
5 Spots Left In Saturday, April 4th 1 pm ET New York Main Event

We will try for one more league Online during the week as well since some owners are already signed up before we hit 420:
9 Spots Left In Thursday, April 1st, 8 pm ET Main Event Online

Okay, we are still working on the 5 open spots in the New York Main Event on Saturday, April 4th at 1 pm ET. We are going to continue to do all we can to fill that up with live bodies at the New York Hilton and we have plenty of interest in that. We have another week to get that done and I'm confident that we'll do it.

In the meantime, we keep getting interest in the Thursday, April 2nd Main Event Online. We just received another entry today and now have 7 teams for that potential league, putting us at 422 teams. If we can fill up New York City and the April 2nd Main Event Online, we'll happily finish at 435 teams, a previous record for our Main Event.

Here's the open spots left:

We're glad to welcome back our old friend and NFBC Charter Member Norm Kent to the NFBC Main Event. Norm first joined our event in 2004 after I appeared on his Fort Lauderdale radio show and he liked the concept so much he caught a flight to Las Vegas and jumped into our first live event. We're glad to have him back in the April 2nd Main Event Online and will see if he can get back up to New York City, too!! 8-)

Anyway, here's the open spots left as we are headed toward 435 teams. C'mon New York, let's fill that one up:

Okay, we had a big day yesterday and we are now close to filling what should be our 29th Main Event League. We now have ONLY 1 SPOT LEFT for the April 2nd Main Event Online. I have one NFBC Charter Member inquiring about that spot, so we'll see what we can do about filling this one today. Then we have to get back to New York City and fill up those last four spots. We're actually at 431 teams, but let's fill these remaining spots first:

1 Spot Left In Thursday, April 2nd, 8 pm ET Main Event Online

4 Spots Left In Saturday, April 4th, 1 pm ET New York Main Event (we also have 1 signup for Main Online that day)

We will give it all week to get 4 more owners live in New York City, but if that doesn't work we'll use a phone hookup with Online drafters. But I think we can get four East Coasters to commit to this one in the next 7 days. Stay tuned.

But here we come 435!! What a great year for the Main Event. Thanks everyone for making your schedules work during a holiday schedule.

SOLD OUT: We have just Sold Out the 5th NFBC Main Event Online on Thursday, April 2nd. Last year we had 5 Main Event Online Leagues on the mid-week offering and felt we needed two mid-week offerings this year because of Easter weekend. Well, lo and behold, we filled 3 Wednesday Main Event Online Leagues and 5 Thursday Main Event Online Leagues. These are here to stay!!

Okay, we are now at 432 teams for the Main Event and have to concentrate on filling the April 4th New York Main Event. We have kept the April 4th Online option open because anyone who signs up for that will have the option to be among our first 435 teams. We'll see what that means for New York City, but it's possible we may have some phone hookups or we'll have one more league Online for April 4th. Let's see what happens with a full week to go. Thanks all and look for your draft spots for the April 1st and 2nd Main Event Onlines later this week. What an awesome season.

Here's what we have left in the 2015 Main Event:

4 Spots Left In Saturday, April 4th, 1 pm ET New York Main Event (we also have 1 signup for Main Online that day)

We will give it all week to get 4 more owners live in New York City, but if that doesn't work we'll use a phone hookup with Online drafters on a first-come, first-serve basis. But I think we can get four East Coasters to commit to this one in the next 7 days. Stay tuned.

But here we come 435!! What a great year for the Main Event. Thanks everyone for making your schedules work during a holiday schedule.

Greg, I know there just has to be 4 more East Coast guys who want to compete live in the finest fantasy baseball competition in the entire country :!: . I would be shocked  if this last live league in NY does not fill in the next few days. I know that you and Tom will beat the bushes to get this league filled and pull the draft order slots for us East Coast guys soon. I was already in the live NY Auction league on Saturday night and could not resist grabbing a last minute spot myself in the live Main Event late last week. Looks like I will be doubling down for a full day of great live drafting and auction buying against the best fantasy baseball players that there are!

Paging Mr. Gekko. Why is it you're dodging me? Sign up for NY, and I'll petition Greg to intentionally put your sorry, has-been ass in my league. :P

And P.S. Anyone who jumps into the NY Main Event for Saturday the 4th, I'll personally pick up your bill for the Friday night before at Rosie O'Grady's so you can hang out with the real players so you can perhaps learn something which will help you the next day at the draft. 8-) Now there is an offer you can't refuse as my people from Jersey like to say.

Okay, we continue to call everyone who has ever been in the New York Main Event!! That being said, having Easter/Passover Weekend at the same time is complicating matters and we knew that going into this draft season. I blame Bud Selig for pushing the MLB season back a week, but we'll figure this out.

So here's the latest update: We have 4 owners who have signed up for the April 4th Main Event Online, which brings us to 435 teams. These four could conceivably swing into New York City's last Main Event League, but we're desperately trying to fill that one up by itself. We will continue to call past New York owners to fill this one on our own, but if we can't get those owners live with us then Online registrants will have first crack at it. Here are the 4 owners who are waiting in the wings:

NFBC MAIN EVENT ONLINE
Saturday, April 4th, 1 pm ET
61. David Knapp, Opelika, Alabama
62. azucena castillo, miami, Florida
63. Robert Henke, Rancho Cucamonga, California
64. Kevin Schiller, Sierra Madre, California

Stay tuned and don't delay if you were planning on competing on this day. We're trying to keep a spot for you warm in New York City, but it could be gone very soon. Thanks all and good luck everyone. We're almost there.

We now have 3 GUARANTEED spots left for the Main Event in New York on April 4. If you sign up and draft LIVE in New York you are guaranteed a spot to take aim at the $125,000 grand prize. We have a backup plan ready and draft spots will be announced on Monday as planned but our goal is still to get four full leagues in New York. If you'd like to take part sign up online or contact me ([email protected]) or Greg ([email protected]) and we'll get you all set up.
