I have to say, it's been a long wait and I never thought that I would finally get my shot, but tonight is the night.
There were always the rumors that the Cubs were keeping me off the Major League roster because they didn't want to start the clock on my free-agency time, but now that I'm several
years beyond my prime playing time, I'm willing to sign a lifetime contract right now to play exclusively with Chicago. So no need to worry about me walking away in my FA year.For the Cubs Fans who are hoping that my call-up will lead to a World Series, I say that.....
We gotta play one at a time.

Although I have kept myself in mediocre shape the past 40 something season's, I have probably lost a few steps. Think Paul Konerko type speed.
On defense, it is true that I've mostly played third base the past 25 years in my local softball leagues, but I believe I will make the transition to second base smoothly.
At the plate, I would describe myself as a Larry Bowa type switch-hitter, without the power.
You can expect a slash line of about .220/.275/.310 with 0 steals.
I promise to give it 110% and leave it all on the field.
I also promise to give up the late nights and the 8a Bloody Mary's.
