Scott Carroll won a game that Zack Duke saved?
Clayton Kershaw won. BUT, his numbers look like Corey Kluber's.
A good thing in our minds before the season began. Not so much right now.
Michael Pineda struck out one batter.
Last time, fanning 16.
Make up your mind!
Jered Weaver went on the road and looked almost unhittable against an AL East team.
Yes, Jered Weaver did that.
Speaking of Kershaw, he became the 20th Dodger pitcher in their history to win 100 games.
Even the Yankees do not have 20 100-win pitchers in their long and storied years.
Two other teams do.
The Giants have 22.
And you won't believe this....
The Cubs have 21.
Adrian Beltre hit his 400th home run last night.
Hall of Fame worthy?
If you see him today, pat him on the head.
Bruce Chen opposed Wandy Rodriguez last night.
Quit laughing.
It really happened.
Ok. Go ahead and laugh. That, is funny.
The Mets said that Dilson Herrera was scratched because of a 'broken nail'.
Not telling us that the finger under the nail was also broken.
Gotta love the Mets.
Is there anything so boring in fantasy baseball as seeing a TAM-MIN match-up?
The Tigers beat the Cardinals with one Victor Martinez tied behind their backs.
Clay Buchholz struck out 11 and looked like gold vs. the Mariners last night.
He is as consistent as a drunk coyote.
Brandon Belt hit a homer last night.
He now has one more than you or I.
Devin Mesoraco pinch hit last night.
When the Reds plead poverty, and they will.
Remember that they carried the highest paid pinch hitter in baseball for months.
Troy Tulowitzki was taken from a game, hurt.
This time, his owners won't miss him as much.
Thanks Tulo!
Kenley Jansen, clearly showing off, came back and struck out four batters in one inning.
Gregory Polanco tripped and could not catch an easy pop up.
CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN!
What Happened Last Night?

On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Re: What Happened Last Night?
Oh, and I was asked to add one more thing...
Maikel Franco went 4-0-0-0 last night.
But, he looked darned good in doing it!

Great line and imagery. Although, I don't always comment, I always enjoy these Doughboy "nuggets", always challenging conventional wisdom of baseball with stats and just the facts. I always think of Sgt. Joe Friday from the Dragnet movie, "Just the facts, m'aam" when I read these.DOUGHBOYS wrote: He is as consistent as a drunk coyote.
The amazing thing about that Cubs win was just a couple of innings before the exact same scenario occurred, Starlin Castro was on 3rd with one out, Szczur at the plate and there was a shallow pop fly to Polanco and Castro tagged and was gunned down by Polanco by a mile. Then, it played out the exact same way, Castro on 3rd, Szczur again at bat, a shallow pop to Polanco, except this time Castro was not going to challenge Polanco, and Polanco (who appeared to get shot by a sniper) just had the most awkward fall, and Castro scored. I was watching the game and could not believe my eyes, wondering what the hell happened to Polanco. Weird. Only in baseball.

One other nugget: 5 in a row for the Cubs!!!
Here's video of the two plays embedded in this article if you haven't seen it:
