I'm always willing to attend a Cubs (or Sox :? ) game if I'm available.

And that goes out to our local people as well.....Coz, Dave, Matt and and and.......
Maybe we should try and set something up during the summer. I'd be willing to take the lead on that if people are interested.

Make it happen, (Addisson) Russell, if you're not busy playing that day. ;) I'm down for this. Cub game, cocktails, and old-man steakhouse in Chicago, preferably Mastro's (but I'm flexible......well not really, I'm kind of a restaraunt snob, but will defer to the majority). I know some guys from Slow Drafts this winter I did expressed interest in coming to Chicago to do an old-man-steakhouse Chicago meet n greet man-date. Let's do it, maybe some Saturday this summer let's pick a date and hook it up.

Alright. Definitely.

I'll check the schedule and post a couple of date options to determine peoples interest and availability.

I'd be interested if I can fit it in the schedule. Thanks for pushing this.

Ok. I looked at the schedule and came up with a few possible dates.

Friday June 12 3:05 Cubs v Reds
Thurs June 25 1:20 Cubs v LAD
Sat July 25 3:05 Cubs v Phillies

or

Saturday June 20 1:10 SOX v Rangers
Saturday July 18 1:10 SOX v Royals

Looking at the schedule, the Cubs do have a couple of other Saturday games, but one is versus the SOX and the others are 6:15 starts.

I'm open to anything and I'm just posting these few dates as a starting point.

Obviously if we are going to do a Cubs game, the sooner we pick a game the better in terms of tickets. Not so much of a problem for SOX tickets :D

So if you are interested in going to game and then having dinner and drinks out afterward, post down below with your preference.

Also, I know some people read the boards but don't (or can't) post here for one reason or another. If you want to email me instead, you can send it to....

Thanks Russell. Some good ideas. Personally, I've kind of zeroed in on that Reds series on either June 12th (Friday at 3:00 PM) or June 13th (Saturday @ 6:00 PM). And I actually kind of like that June 13th Saturday night Reds game at 6:00 PM thinking that Saturdays may be easier for the majority of people to plan around and a Saturday afternoon pre-game meal/cocktail(s) in Wrigleyville could fun.

The other weekend option would that Philly Series on July 24/25th. I agree that Cubs/White Sox will be too difficult for a group outing depending on the number of people interested in attending. As a happily S.S.E.N.D guy (single, self-employed, no dependents), I can pretty much do any day, any time with enough advance notice and I am open to whatever can accomodate the majority of people. But my first vote is for a Saturday night in Wrigleyville....Saturday, June 13th vs. the Reds sounds like fun. So my preference would be to narrow the options to:

1) Friday, June 12th @ 3:00 PM vs Reds

2) Saturday, June 13th @ 6:00 PM vs. Reds

3) Friday, July 24th @ 3:00 PM vs. Phillies

4) Saturday, July 25th @ 3:00 PM vs. Phillies

Like I said, I am open to whatever will most easily accomodate the majority of people but those are my thoughts.

The June 12/13 would work best for me. I am about as certain as I can be at this moment that I can make it up from the Champaign area either one of those 2 dates.

Fwiw, I'd be just as interested as catching 3 hours at a COZ appointed man-steakhouse talking baseball as I would catching an actual ballgame. :D

Lol. Matt, as we discussed during the Slow Draft, let me know when you're in my area and we'll hit up a nice steakhouse and talk shop.

Damn!!

I really dropped the ball on this one.
Time just got away from me and I didn't even really realize that the game we had been talking about is next week.

Let me start this up again...

Next weekend might be short notice, but we can try that or pick another time.
I can still do Saturday the 13th or something mid-week from the 22nd-25th when the Dodgers come to town.
Let me know what you think or if anyone is interested...........

My wife and I crossed Wrigley (and US Cellular Field) off our stadium tour list last month. Nice ballpark. Not overrated, although its true a lot of people seem to be there to drink and socialize. We had seats behind home plate and the guy in front of me saw about every fourth pitch.

The White Sox/Indians game we saw on that trip was awesome. Sale and Kluber in a duel that lived up to expectations, although neither one got the decision. My wife snapped this great picture of Adam Eaton beating Roberto Perez for the game tying run.
