Heston looked good all night, but I loved the 9th inning. He hits the first batter and then struck out the next three batters for the no-hitter. His ball had a lot of movement on it. Great to see a rookie get a no-no in the Big Apple, of all places. Pretty cool.

Ron Darling should win some kind of sportscaster's Emmy for his analysis in the last innings. He toed the line perfectly between being the Mets' color guy and telling it like it is -- from the possible bunt for Tejada to the positioning of the fielder to discussing the official scorer.

The other great aspect was too many times the analysts makes it about them -- how they were in similar situations. He was honest- said he was close but not close enough to know exactly what Heston was feeling.

Great job by Heston. Ninth inning was so odd. After Heston hits the first batter, he strikes out the side. All of the Ks in the ninth were with the batters looking. None of the three Mets bothered to swing with two strikes.

Totally agree with this. Notwithstanding being a huge Yankees fan, I have thought for some time that the Mets announcers, including Darling, are some of the best in the business. I also was thinking while watching the end of the game that Darling was fantastic in his analysis. Loved how he basically said it would be bush for Tejada to try to bunt for a hit when they were down by many runs. He also correctly criticized the Mets hitters for failing to swing on pitches that either were strikes or too damn close to let go by without swinging. Pleasure to listen to an announcer who is not a completely blind "homer" like many of them these days. Darling often is critical of the Mets when they play poorly (and will properly praise them when they play well).

Chris Heston is owned in 87.4% of NFBC leagues and last night he was started in only 79.4% of leagues as he threw a no-hitter with 11 Ks.
