I'd like to start a SAT Draft Champions League...

I like playing these in FB, because after the draft, you are done.

For baseball, there would be millions of possible combinations from each team, each week to optimize scores like FB, so it would be best to just submit 23-man lineup each week. (all Stats would have to do is turn off FA option)

Date: Mon 3/26/07, 7pm EST

Where: MDC

Cost: $500

# of Players drafted: 45

Rules: NFBC rules including all minimums.

Prizes:

1) $4,000

2) $1,500

3) $750

Sign up list:

1) John Zaleski

2) Shawn Childs

3) Scott Jupinka

4) KJ Duke

5) Scott Fleming

6) Eddie Gillis

7) George Kleemann

8) Jim Ferrari

9) Jules McLean

10) Artie Rastelli

11) Jack Hogan

12) Jeff Dobies

13) Rick Thomas

14) Bruce Bevaqua

15) Tom Lord

John, I'd play but I think you need five more rounds. There are too many pitching injuries during the year. What do you think?

Why not allow owners to pick what players they start AFTER the week is over. Makes more sense that way. Almost the same as football DC league

My first thought was 35.... but I knew I'd get too much flack for that..

At 40, you can draft 5-7 extra SP if you like.

45 would probably mean more SEPT call ups drafted than extra P IMO, and I don't think it would be best to decide the league on who gets the luckiest with Sept call ups. A few is fine and 40 would put some strategy in Sept callups or extra P's or hitters. Cover all bases and the league would be boring.

Can you say GG blocking? ;)

To optimize score, you would have to calc EVERY possible player scenario... (40*39*38*37*36....*2*1)

A player that has zero AB's could actually have a better ROTO score than a guy that goes 1-20 in a week.

[/QUOTE]We draft 30, but don't you think you picked up more the one player a week for the first 15 weeks last year. Everyone has injuries, bust and demotions. It is better than having no players to fill in on some teams.

You'd have to be very unlucky to lose all 3 at a position.

Those 5 spots you want would probably be all Sept callups.

Do me a favor go back and look at your main event team...I'm sure you rostered more than 14 pitchers.

I used 33 in the main. You can play with 14. I know I need at least 5 more.

Many of these were double start signings and players that were once on another team...

14 * 15 = 210 P's drafted.

5 SP *30 = 150 SP

30 CL = 30

30 set up = 30

OK... we could use 5 more spots... I'll edit..

I talked to Greg Friday and optimizing standings would be too difficult. It's not points like FB.

Have you ever plaed in a CDM challenge where someone had higher league score than overall score? Owners would "think" they had the right score when in fact they might not if they were able to choose at the end of the week.

Just set a lineup and off we go...

I know my drafts won't be on that date, so that's what we'll go with.

I have no problem with the Draft Champions League concept and I'd like to do it in baseball. This is a good format. 40-45 rounds sounds right and Monday, March 26th would work. I'd have to check with MockDraftCentral.com to see if they can do that many rounds, but I'm sure they can.

Right now I'd have to say you will have to set your lineup before the week begins. I can talk with STATS about doing it after the week or making changes on Friday, but that could present a new set of programming changes for our setup. Let me look into it if the interest is there. But I like the concept and will support this if there is enough interest. Basically it's drafting a huge roster and then just making your own lineup changes each week. NFBC Draft Champions League. I like it.
