Who Did You Take Instead Of Bryce Harper This Year?

I know, I know. You were the guy who took Bryce Harper in the first three rounds each of the last two years and after two miserable years you told yourself you wouldn't take him again this year. So you passed on him in the second round and maybe you even passed on him again in the third round. You did that, right?

Now you're kicking yourself as the gamble you took each of the last two years is paying off for someone else this year!! I feel your pain. All you can do is chalk it up to experience and hope that the players you took instead of Harper are paying dividends for you.

But are they? Who did you take instead of Harper in the second or third round? Inquiring minds want to know.

I talked to a veteran NFBC owner yesterday who said his partner convinced him to take the safer pick in Cano. Safe as in .271-1-11-0 right now. Yikes. Did anyone else go the safe route there this year instead of Harper? Let's hear from ya and the best stories may make our STATS Fantasy Advantage show tonight. I took Trout.

Actually, he was on my list if he made it back to me at the 2/3 turn, but it turns out he went with the 26th pick. I was very high on Marte this year (and I did get him at the turn), so I wonder if I would thrown the dice on Harpter? Probably not as I wanted Marte SB (potential).

I took Marte at 2.6 in the ME and he went at 2.13. I can live with that.

Drafted him each of the previous 2 years. I drafted Ellsbury instead. Harper went early third round in Main Event I was part of. I was very close to taking him once again, but then thought if somehow he dropped to third round I will definitely take him there. I was thinking 3 strikes and you are out, but I suppose it was 2.

I took Carlos Gomez @ 1/8.

He went 2/4 or I would have taken Donaldson over him @ 2/8. Not really hating the Donaldson pick too much.

Given the way pitching flew off the board, I would have been hard pressed to take him over Kluber @ 3/8, but I would have had a decision to make.

Second Main

Goldschmidt @ 1/6. I wouldn't trade.

Donaldson @ 2/10. Harper went @ 2/13.

I would have definitely taken him over Chapman, who I took @ 3/6.

Imagine how suicidal those who took Puig over Harper are?

Ruined my only Trout team with a beautiful Puig Desmond turn. Harper was available. No idea how I led about 6 weeks ago, but the free fall has been very enjoyable. Puig was going to be a pick. But choosing Desmond over Posey and going ahead with the third outfielder was an horrific mistake. Obviously Puig was too, but that pick was going to be made so I am not as concerned about that debacle. I didn't even like Desmond very much so no clue why he is on the team over Posey. Amazing how this game can change on a draft day call. Anyone I took at short would be better and then I ended up with Gomes and Darnoud at catcher. Just makes me wonder what things would look like if I made the correct pick in Posey or Harper.
