They did this the right way. Didn't give up Wheeler. Balance out the offense some. Now they can run a little platooning and have a major league offense out there at least. It is very likely they still come up short, but I think the played this pretty well.

July 30th.

Dodgers acquired UTIL Jose Peraza from the Braves in the 13-player, three-team Hector Olivera trade.
Peraza entered the 2015 season as a consensus top-100 prospect, but some of that shine has worn off. As of Thursday's official trade announcement, he was batting just .294/.318/.379 in 96 games at Triple-A Gwinnett. The 21-year-old has played second base, shortstop, and center field in the minor leagues.

August 3rd.

Dodgers 2B prospect Jose Peraza provided three hits in Sunday's doubleheader for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
One of the hits included his first home run as a member of the Dodgers organization. He also stole his 27th base and drove in a pair of runs. Peraza has gone 9-for-23 (.391) during his six-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old joined the Dodgers last week as part of a three-team swap with Atlanta and Miami.

Yup. Real easy to see why that old shine had worn off, especially on a team with as much speed as the Braves have.

Hector Olivera my ass....

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

you're really hung up on Peraza. must be his obp that has you intrigued ;)

i think it was a bad trade as well, but as the season wore on and the more i read, i don't think losing peraza was the end of the world.

org has plenty of speed. now it's just a matter of developing those players

Ha! :D

I just saw Peraza play a few times. Good range. Good D. Soft hands. Good eye but not afraid to swing. And sick good on the basepaths. And 21.

Olivera? Will be 31 next season. Has yet to see a pitch in the majors. 70ish ab so far in the minors. Rumors of ill health before the Dodgers signed him and cannot stay on the field this year.

I know nuttin from nuttin, but it just does not add up....
