I posted about Mark Srebro's year, but felt that it was deserving to go on the top subject line.
He really did have a splendid year.
Here's the post....
Speaking of awesome years by NFBC players.
Mark Srebro with another great year.
Here's what he did.....
A total of 22 NFBC leagues this year and cashed in 20 of them!!!
$1,600 Main Event. Finished 1st in league and 5th overall (out of 450 teams)
$1,300 AL Auction. Finished 1st
$2,500 Super league. Finished 3rd
$350 Online Championship. Finished 1st in league and 62nd overall (out of 1,500 teams).
Fifteen $150 Draft Champion leagues. Finished:
1st in 5 of them ( top team finished 10th overall out of 2,880 teams)
2nd in 6 of them
3rd in 2 of them
Out of money in 2 of them.
That is one hell of a resume for one year.
Mark has accomplished a lot in the NFBC. I've already mentioned his 13 of 14 cashings a couple of years ago.
I believe he also has three top five finishes in the Overall Main Event.
He's knocked on the Hall of Fame door in the past.
This year, I think he knocked the damned door down.

Re: A Productive Season To Be Sure
Mark competed in five different formats, and showed a very nice profit in every one of them. I don't believe that anyone has ever accomplished that in the same year -- truly a season for the ages. It'll be tough to top these accomplishments in 2016, but if I know Mark, he's already figuring out a way to do just that.
* Excellence through time in the NFBC main event
* Consistency through time in the NFBC Main event
* Winning titles in the NFBC
* Winning prize money in the NFBC
* Excellence in several NFBC formats; consistency in multiple formats
If this is the criteria used for induction to the Hall of Fame, Mark is a slam-dunk choice.

Re: A Productive Season To Be Sure
Dan - I was going to PM you, but I'll just put it out here. Thanks for the props. Not needed, but appreciated. It was a very successful season across multiple formats. It was a lot of hardwork along with some luck (good and bad). I looked back at my main event history, and I've entered a total of 14 teams through my career. I've won 5 times with top overall finishes of 2nd, 5th, 5th, 6th and 15th. The event I'm looking most forward to next year is the AL auction. I've won it two years in a row, and will try everything in my power to make it three. Assuming u are drafting in vegas next year the second weekend, let's set aside some time to chat. Last year wasn't nearly long enough.
Glenn - thanks champ. (And yes, I've already identified a breakout player next year that is flying under the radar.

Pretty damn impressive Mark, but no surprise. Congrats on a great season Bud and see you in March/April in NYC and/or Vegas.

I don't have Mark's body of work front and center but as a fellow Charter Member I'm familiar with his successes, and I couldn't agree more. The MB Mark has chilled over the years but his level of play has stood the test of time.King of Queens wrote:
