In reality I think that any of us that have been around know in our hearts that we're getting paid, I've never questioned that, the only thing I wanted was the timing. The payments will go out to many people and everyone needs or has plans for the money they are to receive. No matter what anyone's needs and or wants are for the money is irrelevant. It's just important to be able to know when to expect it.
Greg has earned and deserves a lot of rope here that we're not giving to him, including me to a certain point. Its time to back off and believe in the process and reevaluate next week. I sincerely believe answers and earnings are coming next week. I also believe that Greg is just caught up in corporate, political red tape. I am somewhat embarrassed to be a part of this because I believe that some have taken it too far.

Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday
I believe it'll work out, Joe.
Heck, I can't blame folks for being upset.
We're talking real money. Earned money.
And when something is promised, especially by those trusted, people will be upset.
At the same time, Krause, Fanball, and STATS all have one thing in common. They cannot be trusted near as much as we trust Greg/Tom.
And when they (STATS) blame their 'largeness' or 'priorities', it only fans the flames.
Big companies just don't get customers, do they?
I believe this will end soon with Deposits and checks going out and the draft room opening soon after.
When that happens, everything will start to go back to normal and we can start talking about baseball execs, not STATS execs.

I know I don't think like most, so be nice
I feel STATS method of payments over the years has been ass backwards.
Big winners should be paid two or three days after the season is finished (allow that time frame for confirmation of winnings).
That would get US excited.
This would send a message to all, that the whales have been paid and that payments will be coming soon for all others.

Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday
I apologize for being off the boards this weekend as I'm at the Arizona Fall League Symposium. I haven't read all of the posts, but I've certainly heard what is going on here in the last day.
I've been a guest speaker at the AFL Symposium each year since 2002, which covers all 12 years of the NFBC. I think this is only the second time that I've been out here that we haven't paid prizes in full by this time. The other time was 2010 when we were with Fanball because CDM usually took 6 weeks to pay and they didn't want to pay one contest (NFBC) before the others. I remember the firestorm during my time out here.
It's no fun being out here and seeing great customers like Dave Potts and know that he still hasn't deposited our winnings from 2015 yet. Usually that is all done.
Our goal is always to get these out 3 weeks after the season and this year we learned that would be delayed by one week. Getting them all out last week including Direct Deposits which save several days would have worked. I see that many checks went out Friday, including those to Glenn Schroter, Chad Schroeder and other overall champs. More than a million dollars in prize checks went out on Friday, but we have another $1.8 million going out early this week.
I wish we had done the Direct Deposits first and then 25-30% of you would have had cash in hand first and the firestorm would have been concentrated to the fact that we had that one week delay. Now it's additional days plus one week. I'll request again to get Direct Deposits to the front of the line, but of course hopefully everything remaining goes out right away.
You certainly have a right to vent. Blame, me, Tom or anyone else involved here. Take your frustration out on the NFBC. The Customer is King. We know that.
But all we care about right now is making sure these last $1.8 million in prizes goes out to the hundreds of owners still waiting for them as soon as possible. Again, over 25% are getting them via Direct Deposits this year, which we didn't allow last year. Hopefully that makes up some time.
And in the future we need the Player Accounts that drop these winnings into your accounts shortly after the season and you manage those winnings the way you want, including asking for Direct Deposit or checks. Most of you see how easily that is handled with DFS companies and want us to do the same. We know that.
We are telling you everything we know about payments going out and will continue to do that. Tom will update prizes going out tomorrow and hopefully Friday's checks arrive to our big winners tomorrow in the mail. Congrats all and SORRY for this year's delay.

Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday
Greg,
So you can't guarantee that Direct Deposits will go out Monday, only request that they get "closer to the front of the line"?
The only reason I did Direct Deposit is because with every other company you get the money quicker than checks. Sounds like that's not the case here. But the big money winners will get their money first! How wonderful

Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday
The issue isn't so much the timing as it is the continued stream of misinformation, missed deadlines, and ambiguous at best answers.
You would be much better served by putting a line in the sand that you know will be easily achievable (like 1 December) and then beating that deadline than promising one date, then another, then another. Bragging about the swiftest payouts in the industry and then creating 6 pages of skepticism on the message boards due to missed deadlines and delays is poor form. Beating earns bragging rights...not shifting the deadline multiple times.
I feel that the constant shifting of deadlines w/o information was disrespectful of the paying customers. Telling us upfront that you have a major audit going on and that there will be delays as a result would have been a better solution. Water under the bridge now.
I did DD because I thought it would be the swifter way of seeing payment. I can see now that was a mistake that merely increased my risk of financial exposure while not resulting in the temporal advantage I thought it would provide.
Communication with the customers is the key to success in a niche market. My impression is the customers have not been communicated with. I will consider it a pleasant surprise now when I get paid...."surprise" should never be a word used in these forums in this subject.

Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday
As I was a money donator again in 2015 I will chime in with no dog in the race. The money for these contests was collected in some cases almost a year ago. The season ended more than a month ago. The money should have been paid the day after the season ended. In many cases it's as simple as hitting a button and transferring the money.anpyanks wrote:I really don't understand why everyone is all worked up about getting paid. I think Greg and Tom have always paid in a timely manner. If I was them, I'd tell you guys that money will be in hand by Thanksgiving so when it comes before that you will be appreciative of the quick payouts. I'm thankful I have a place to play where I know I'M GETTING PAID and don't have to concern myself with not getting paid. I play high stakes football at another site and its promised to get paid by the super bowl which is about six weeks after the season and it always comes before then and everyone is always happy and not complaining like a bunch of old women like you guys are doing. You can respond and tell me I'm an idiot and that's fine cause this will be my only post so have at it. Maybe you guys can go play at WCOFF next year and tell me how you feel at the end of the season.
Without ever meeting Greg or Tom I can tell you that these guys are straight shooters. Unfortunately the same can't be said of 'corporate'. STATS: Pay up. With all of the BS going on in DFS, and the threat of regulation, you would think that corporate would have figured it out by now.
Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday
I agree with my bud Mad Cow that if things had been communicated better, this wouldn't have been that big a deal. Still, for the most part NFBC has paid quickly and it's been the best run contest there is, so I have full faith we'll get the money soon, and I'm willing to give Greg and Co a pass this time. Getting customer accounts set up would be super, but whatever the case, I think what Dan said is spot on: under-promising and over delivering is definitely the way to go... ;-()
Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday
So, let me understand, the big winners get paid first and the lower winners last? In addition, the comment, if you go direct deposit, you'll get your money quicker is a bold face lie? Watch how much I spend in 2016; I'll spend more at CDM, oh, by the way, they paid their customers in a week this year and last year. See ya

Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday
Greg, please keep us posted on the status of the Direct Deposits going out hopefully today (Monday), as hopefully this doesn't linger longer.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday
Why didn't the direct deposits go out first?
I thought the whole idea behind choosing the direct deposit format was so that we would get paid faster than those who chose to be paid by check. Now we are told that Greg will try to move direct deposits to the front of the line
.That sure sounds to me like direct deposits are not getting any priority here. Why were we told to use the direct deposit format in the first place if they are not being paid first? Sorry Greg and Tom but this whole situation was handled very poorly this year.

Re: Prizes To Go Out On Friday
Oh, and banks are closed on Wednesday for Veterans Day; so, if no DD tomorrow, there will be none Wednesday which brings us to Thursday; The Dec 1st comment is what STATS should have said; how much interest does STATS make off the money being held???

Direct deposit received - thanks guys.
I know how hard you've been working making sure the NFBC and NFFC will be around for years to come while having to deal with this other stuff out of your control.
