Doubleheader DC: A startup 2-year league for 2016!!! FULL

Post by KJ Duke » Wed Dec 02, 2015 5:29 pm

I'll be starting up another DHDC league this season. Last year's league is in it's second and final season with each team able to keep 10 players from last year. A few of those owners wanted to start another two-year league this season, so I will add those names to the signup and open it up for new entrants.

I don't have a a draft date in mind yet, but we can discuss that as we approach filling the league. (I'm still in football mode so draft date is not imminent; probably sometime in January).

Here's the format:
• Two-year Private Keeper League format (not part of the overall contest)
• 50 rounds with Draft Champion rules hosted on the NFBC site
• Keep up to 10 players from this year's draft for 2017
• Entry fee $925 this year, $525 next year (includes 100% payout private entry fee (800/400) plus $125 each yr to NFBC)
• Top 3 in 2016 pays $5000/ $2500/ $1500
• Top 3 in 2017 pays $5000/ $2500/ $1500
• Top 2 in combined points after two seasons pays $2000/ $1000 bonus

For Y2, each team can protect 10 players from the original draft. Protected players will take the place of Y2 draft picks for the same round in which they were taken in the original draft. All teams must submit their protected player list by January 31 of Y2 (Y2 entry fees will be due two weeks prior to that). There will no trading of players or picks. Drafted players must be in or expected to be added to the STATS player pool (no 50th round fliers on college players!). ▬ In Y2 owners will select draft slots on Feb 1; 4th place will have first choice followed by 5th to 15th, then 3rd to 1st. ▬

No owner is obligated to return for the Y2 season, however owners that choose not to return for Y2 will be ineligible for all second-season prizes including the 2-season combined score payout. Any owner taking over an abandoned team in Y2 can do so at the lower second-season entry fee and would be eligible for all Y2 prizes including the combined score bonus using the previous owner's score from season one.

Doubleheader DC II
Slow Draft with 8-hour clock, owners must be text-able or otherwise able to keep up with a 5+rounds per day pace

Ok, looks like we are full. If there's any further interest please post in case we lose anyone.

A mid-to-late January draft date has been proposed, which sounds about right to me. I'll pick this up again when we get closer to the date.

In the meantime, we have one opening in the 2-year league from last season with a dirt-cheap buy-in for a well over 100% payout for someone that wants to start with Mike Trout and George Springer and build from there.

I might be interested in this one, too.

Could you email that owner's draft results to me, KJ?

I am giving some thought to making this startup DH league an RC-type league (no in-season lineup management).

See the other thread I started on this for details. If the majority would agree on that, we could move forward with that change and of course allow anyone that doesn't like it to opt out.

Yeah, on second thought as an already unique and higher dollar league might make sense to keep this one as is, test new concept with standard entry-level price lge.

Same format as last year. I'm thinking of a draft date in the neighborhood of Jan 14-15, starting on a Thur or Fri.
