NFBC Magazine League II Draft Order

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jan 16, 2007 4:52 am

Here's some interesting facts about the KDS for this league:

** Three people got their first preference as two folks moved down from the top spot.

** Eight teams got one of their Top 5 preferences as the average draft preference was just under 6. Not bad for 15 teams.

** Only one team moved down below 10th through their KDS preferences. It seems to be an interesting trend this year as fewer teams are opting for the bottom of the draft this year compared to last year.

** 12 owners had No. 1 as their top preference. The other top preferences were 6, 3 and 3.

Here are the KDS preferences provided to us:

6, 7, 1, 8, 5, 12, 11, 10, 15, 14, 13, 9, 4, 3, 2

3, 4, 5, 2, 6, 7, 1, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 13, 14, 15

NFBC Magazine League II Draft Order

As one of the "3s", I will say that I would prefer to have one of the top three players but still have a better pick in round two.

When you get to the point that the pick is not automatic then I feel you will get better value and draft control by being in the middle 7-8-9 slots.

Now I have to figure out what to do at twelve?

Thoughts? Greg,

Is the order that you listed above the order that the KDS preferences were processed (that is, was the 6,7,1,... the first one pulled from the hat)?

Thanks ...

That's one crazy owner to have the 6th slot as their first preference. ;)

Greg, I don't see the KDS that I emailed you on 1/11:

3,1,4,7,8,6,9,5,2,10,11,12,13,14,15

Since I ended up with #13, it looks like it didn't matter.

I know Eddie Gillis isn't in this league, but I was still surprised that he didn't get the #1 pick.

Come on KING , your 2nd to me in number 1 picks.

IN baseball it means nothing, last year only one guy in the main event out of the 1st pick won his division.I also drew the 10 pick in the other mag league.

By the way, that owner who got the #1 pick last year (and still won) must be really talented!

[/QUOTE]true ;) since only 3 teams in 3 years in the main have accomplished that feat. That team had a suspect top 10 start but kicked azz with stellar choices like morneau/hall/francouer/piazza/harang/verlander from 11 on down.
