I saw slow motion footage of Gray's arm throwing a slider...incredible, incredible torque.
Just a donation to the Sonny Gray wannabe of Joe Blanton's pages foundation....
If we don't get off topic we'll never make it ! We need 50 shades of sonny gray.

When I see those slomo's it's hard to believe anyone can make it thru a season. Dave Draveckys seem normal.

Sonny Gray has never in every DC Draft, been selected before the fourth round.
Sonny Gray also, has never been taken later than the fifth round in every DC.
Jon Lester and Carlos Gonzalez are the only other two players like that.

Lester or Gray, who would you rather have?

Today's contribution to the 'Wannabe like Joe Blanton Foundation'.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

A good friend of mine from Tennessee, now a Chicago transplant, grew up with and played football with Sonny Gray's father, Jesse, who, from the way my friend tells it, was a local legend and was tragically killed in a car accident when Sonny was in HS. My friend had told me about Sonny when he was at Vandy so because of my friend's connection and telling me what an athlete his Dad was, I have been following Sonny's career since college at Vandy, through the draft etc. Irrelevant for Fantasy purposes, but a good read nonetheless on what makes Sonny tick. I sent this article to my friend awhile back when I saw it and he posted on FB to all his friends back home.

Since KJ obviously needs a Blanton fix:

Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan reports that the Dodgers and right-hander Joe Blanton have agreed to a one-year, $4 million contract.
Blanton was quietly very effective as a reliever last season between the Pirates and Royals, posting a 2.04 ERA and 62/12 K/BB ratio over 57 1/3 innings. The 35-year-old will likely function in a swingman role out of the Dodgers' bullpen.

And to think, I could suck twice as bad and only cost them half the money....
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
