Andy Marte - Beer Gut?

"I got a little overweight during the offseason," Marte said.

Don't gamble on this young kid this year. I can see the 2008 Fantasy Sports blurb about Marte saying...The kid has potential, but blew his chances of having a nice 2007 season by showing up overweight.

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

another way to make 100K is to start giving a biased opinion on guys to try to make them move up or down on draft day!

How did King Felix work out last year Gekko? Did you pump him up enough?

I don't think a player's weight has that much to do with hitting. Look at Tony Gwynn, hell..look at Cecil Fielder. These guys were overweight and it never affected their hitting.

If you want to say the guy gained fat so there's a better chance he didn't do steroids then you would have a point as I like all my players to be on steroids.
"Hit a home run - put your head down, drop the bat, run around the bases, because the name on the front is more - a lot more important than the name on the back."

Ryne Sandberg (my favorite player of all-time)
