which ever rating system, that is fine. Funny, I didn't even realize he was ranked #1 last year for OF by espn.

Anyway, why do you think he doesn't deserve to be highly rated:

YEAR AB H R HR RBI SB BB AVG SLG OBP

2006 602 196 119 34 114 10 47 .326 .586 .387

The .326 average is what differentiated him. I personally wouldn't pick him 1st OF overall (risk is just too high), but he is certain to go high

What part of the $500 do I get I have no issues with a void if he gets injured or adjusting the level of where he would have to finished based on number of injured top OFs. For example, if 2 of the top 15 get hurt, he would have to be part of the top 8 to win the bet

OK...upon further review...this is my bet.

If, at 2007 MLB regular seasons end, Matt Holliday is ranked 1 thru 10 of the MLB/Fantasy qualified OF...you win.

If, at 2007 MLB regular seasons end, Matt Holliday is ranked 11 or worse of the MLB/Fantasy qualified OF...I win.

We will use the NFBC in-season ratings list for rankings of eligable OF according to the NFBC rules.

Injuries are part of fantasy baseball and their rankings...and are also part of this bet.

No voiding of wager once in the 3rd party's hands and cleared into his account.

I'm laying the odds (5 to 1) Paying you 500 if I lose and winning 100 if I win. (up to 2500)

Take it or leave it.

Sounds fine with me. I asked 3rd so I guess I get whatever portion of the $500 the other guys don't want. But I will take the entire bet if no one responds

Lance, I'm in for the full $500 on my end and $2500 on your end. All terms are reasonable and accepted by me. Will you be drafting in Las Vegas so we can meet in person? I will await Captain Hook's PM on where to send the funds.

sportbet, I agree with you on Holliday. I think he'll be a modest disappointment - top 20 is likely, not top 10. But ... those are really big odds, I'd probably offer 2.5:1, 5x seems a little crazy.

Incredible that Corey Patterson gets this much respect. I am in total shock over that one.

I personally would rather play for a 5 in steals than use the pick it will take to get him and have the substantial risk of him not repeating the 2006 performance.

I am a guy who loved the Patterson play in 06 in the 12th-14th round scenario- not much chance I will have him in 07.

I did enjoy that steal a day he gave almost for an entire month last summer though.

I took Patterson as the last pick of the 5th round in the mag draft. Too early. I won't make that mistake again in the main. Like him, but he bats 8th and now may lose ab's against lefties.

I didn't know I had private messaging turned off...it's on now.

I sent Perry (Hook) a PM, and when I get his info...I'll send him the $2500.00 to hold. Winner gets the entire $3,000.00 (with your $500)

This will be fun to track!

I'll be drafting in Vegas for sure...just look for a table full of empty cocktail glasses and beer bottles.

I'm sorry Spy (Chris), and headhunters...I'm not going to risk anymore than $2500.00 on this prop.

Yes...I was...but once I made the statement (with poor odds)...I stood by it.

I'm just sick of how quickly the fantasy community/magazines/etc jump on the next big thing, and forget about the older players who are still talented. The Age 27 bust out...the one year contract...these are things that worry me...but my gut is golden, and I hope this bet pans out like the many others I have won.

I sent Hook the check today. Should I draft him in the main as a "hedge" to this wager!??? (HA!)

No voiding of bet...go down in spring training!

Lance, I also sent my check to Perry today and I echo Spyhunter's thoughts. See you at the draft!

Who is drinking the kool-aid in regards to D. Young?? Did no one learn their lesson from J. Hermida last year? I hope all the guys who ranked D. Young in their top 25 are drafting in my league this year, talk about Dead Money.

While I agree with you and did not list D. Young on my list (simply too much risk that high). I really don't think you want some of the guys that did, in your league. I suspect I know some that did list him and their track record is pretty good. Even if we disagree on Young.
