First pitch forum

Anyone go this weekend in Chicago or St. Louis?

Worth the afternoon? I'm most likely going next weekend. Just curious.

I've been attending the Shandler Forum for at least ten years.
For me, it signals that the drafts are close. Big thumbs up. The tour
rolls into NJ on March 12th - looking forward to it once again.

Ron Shandler is very good speaker. Our own Mr Zola has long been my
favorite. He really puts his all into his presentations. By the end of your
first Forum, you will know exactly what I mean. Enjoy.

I attended Chicago last year but couldn't make it this year. I would say that I enjoyed it overall but unfortunately the Shandler pitch is always too much for me to handle. Last year it was his 30 day leagues. This year I am guessing it will be all about his new book. He has made a lot of nice contributions to the industry and I love the Forecaster but the over the top self promotion is too much for my liking. Zola does a great job and I really liked a couple of the other HQ contributors last year as well. The best part is seeing a room full of "baseball geeks" like ourselves!

Great to hear. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like Lord Zola rules :D

Anybody else going to be at the Atlanta session on March 6th?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Program went great. I think people will find Ron's presentations more interesting this year than last.

According to my numerish, I need between 2 and 3 Diet Mountain Dews to be properly amped for my 15 minutes at the beginning. Three in Chicago and I started talking like that guy in the old Fed Ex commercial in order to get through it. So I cut back on the Dew in St. Louis and ran a tad over.

It's actually times out very well. If you leave without getting your question answered it's because you didn't ask it. Plenty of time to get to everyone. Shoot, ask two.

Todd and Dave, great program yesterday in Atlanta (though I was a little disappointed in the Atlanta turnout...should have been more). Great pace, good information. Thanks also to Jason, Chris and of course Ron (feel like I am missing someone, but thank them too).

Folks, I am telling you, if one of these gets close to your area, go. It is an afternoon well spent.

That would be Brent Hershey, co-GM of BBHQ.

Quaint but fun crowd.
