30 Games and Chapman not appealing... seems like his stock will drop!!

If Chapman gets 30 games when no charges even are being pursued against him, that does not bode well for Jose Reyes and his fantasy owners. Have to say, I thought Chapman would get considerably less (10-15 games). I note that Chapman's suspension is less than the amount that would have caused him to lose a year of free agency, and that he has decided not to appeal after having vowed to do so. Coincidence? I think not.

I was thinking that Chapman would get 25 games and Reyes would get 50.
Chapman's stock drops for sure.
Andrew Miller becomes that 'half Closer' that a lot of folks seek for the Main Event. Albeit, a far more expensive half Closer.
Most DC's have had Chapman drafted in the 5/6, Betances 10/12, and Miller 10/16.
I believe that gap shortens now, with all three being selected within four rounds of each other.
For the Main, I'd guess Chapman 7/8, Betances and Miller 8/11.
It sounds like Chapman, in not appealing the ruling, has had closed door meetings with MLB.

I haven't touched Reyes with a 10 foot pole.
Reyes suspension will be more severe.Based on Chapman's length of suspension, Reyes may get as much as 80 games.
Reyes relationship with the Rox is tenuous at best. Disliking the losing attitude that pervades through the Rockies system, he has let it be known that he'd like to play elsewhere.
The Rockies don't have that high on their priority list and may treat Reyes as a 'hostile witness' when returning.
A larger problem for Reyes is that Ian Desmond and Alexie Ramirez signed for fewer bucks and Jimmy Rollins signed a minor league contract. Reyes is overpaid, and overpaid shortstops are not having a good year.

Different variables for Chapman make it more interesting this time around.

New surroundings.
He's pitching for a different team in a different league.
He's pitching for a team expected to win.
He's pitching with comparable (somewhat) relievers in his own bullpen.
The only thing that remains the same is Chapman himself.

Reyes didn't have a gun. Chapman did. That might mean something.
