I know we are a week away from the first FAAB pickups in the NFBC Cutline Championship, but here are some answers to some of the questions I'm already getting:
1. How do I make 5 free agent pickups without cutting anyone?
Rosters can be expanded by 5 players during this first FAAB, meaning your current 36-man roster can grow to 41 players on April 11th. You don't have to cut any player with your first five FAAB threads. The computer will know that those are legal adds, so just don't put a player to drop in those first five bid threads.
2. Can I pick up more than 5 players on April 11th?
Yes. You can pick up 10, 15, 20 players if you'd like. The first 5 pickups you don't need to cut anyone, but after that you must list a player to cut for each new pickup. This is normal FAAB, except that you don't have to cut anyone with the first five pickups.
3. How much FAAB do I get for just two weeks of pickups?
It's the same $1,000 FAAB being used in just two FAAB periods (April and June). This should be interesting as folks try to manage this over just two pickup periods. Good luck.
4. Is deadline really Monday, April 11th?
Yes, the Cutline deadline will be on a Monday night, to give everyone ample time to make their other cuts on Sunday. Plan ahead and look for these additions on Monday, April 11th (not this week!!!!) after the 10 pm ET deadline.
Thanks all and good luck. It's been a fantastic debut season as we've reached our goals and then some. The final table of 20 teams will now be granted more for their efforts. Look for final numbers after drafts conclude tomorrow. Thanks and good luck.

With the number of teams increasing, I would like to see the number of places paid increase instead of increasing the prize money for the same number of teams. Give more teams a chance at a profit since there is only 1 small league prize per league. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Making Pickups April 11th For Cutline Championship
Hi Greg,
Are the free agents that are added to player's rosters on April 11 able to be used the week of April 11? Many games will be completed Monday April 11 prior to the FAAB deadline meaning players that have good games on Monday afternoon may be picked up that night and have their stats counted. Thanks.
