Madison Bumgarner, Zack Greinke, Sonny Gray.
All I hear about now days is how sophisticated sports teams are about nutrition, training, rest and recovery and yet after 6 months of the off-season, 6 weeks of Spring Training with the main goal being to "build" pitchers arms up, all with a singular focus of being ready for Opening Day, and yet, two guys (Bumgarner & Greinke) come down with flu and one ( Sonny Gray) has food poisoning. For the obscene amount of money these guys are paid, particularly Greinke, you would think they would take the same precautions as a mother with a young child would take: namely to get a simple Flu Shot. The lack of awareness of the benefits of the flu shot is mind-boggling. If I owned the Diamondbacks, knowing I'm paying Greinke $34 nillion a year and over a million per start, and find out to that he took the mound on Opening Day with the FLU while getting embarrassed, I would go all George Steinbrenner and demand answers from the traing staff & medical personnel to know why these guys are not getting flu shots. Ridiculous. In some ways we as a society are more sophisticated & educated than ever, and yet, in some ways, especially when it comes to vaccinations & herd immunity, DUMBER than ever.
