How tight are your Cutline leagues early on? Everyone still bunched together or has someone jumped way ahead or behind?

It's still 1-1 as I type this, but it looks like the Braves are all over Clayton Kershaw today. Who'd have thunk it?

Ha! 30 seconds later, a strikeout and a double play ball. Bases loaded, no outs, becomes no runs scored in the 2nd.Bronx Yankees wrote:It's still 1-1 as I type this, but it looks like the Braves are all over Clayton Kershaw today. Who'd have thunk it?

Surprise, surprise, surprise...so far (yes, only so far) through five IP, Wisler has out pitched Kershaw!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Kershaw, Scherzer, and Price all give up first inning runs....

Jake Odorizzi and Cody Anderson just completely blew up my main event team

Re: April 21st Gameday Thread
As this first month continues, my Main Event pitching staff makes me sick:
Greinke
Wainwright
Odorizzi
S. Miller
Iwakuma
Medlen
Miley
Drafting out of the 13 hole, I had to either jump in with Scherzer or wait until the end the pitcher run. My options at 3.13 were Greinke, Archer, and Felix. Needless to say, not much has gone right after that either. It's so disheartening to be out of even league contention just 3 weeks into the season.
BTW, my top 3 SPs last year were Wainwright, Zimmerman and Samardzija. You can probably guess how I did last year too.

Matt Wisler's Mom has him in her lineup today.
Yes, even Wisler's Mother smiled.

And how long have you been waiting to use that one!DOUGHBOYS wrote:Matt Wisler's Mom has him in her lineup today.

Kershaw waived around and thrown out at the plate!

Ouch. Two more baserunners (but no more runs) in the second off Odor-ezy. On my Auction League team. Paid $12 for the pleasure...mattjb wrote:Jake Odorizzi and Cody Anderson just completely blew up my main event team

I know it's been well documented, but it's amazing how bad "Ace" pitchers have been. It seems like every year something early stands out, but I didn't see this coming at all.

It is within my authority to trade Jim Johnson to any other franchise...any offers? One-legged hot dog vendor? Stray dog? Milli Vanilli album? Obama "Yes We Can" poster? Anything?

Even worse is that Cody Anderson is in because I didn't trust DeGrom to get a start or Graveman in Yankees stadiumEdwards Kings wrote:Ouch. Maybe a win still to be had for Jake?

If it makes you feel any better I had Matz and Jungmann give up FIFTEEN earned in less than 3 innings last week (followed by Jungman being blown up again later in that same week. For the record, I don't believe it means you're out of the league contention already.Philly High Hopes wrote:As this first month continues, my Main Event pitching staff makes me sick:

Speaking on behalf of the citizens of the U.S., we'll do a one-for-one swap for either of these "players" ...Edwards Kings wrote:It is within my authority to trade Jim Johnson to any other franchise...any offers? Alright, we'll do a two-for-one. Hello President Jim Johnson!
