Lots of good story lines for today! Boston / New York had a pretty explosive finish last night. White Sox / Twins could have more batters hit today. Maybe the rain can save Pelfrey from getting pounded. Very windy in Chicago - I think left to right. Hammel vs Gio - should be a good one. Shelby Miller falls to 0-4? Jon Gray looks to improve on his 1.64 ERA. Oh wait - that's his WHIP. Sigh.

Derby day I know zip on horses. I got the Braves at -115. Shelby Miller looks lost can't see this turning without a AAA stint or a phony 15 day trip to the DL, everyone else is fatigued seems like a valid injury, I'm fatigued watching him. Teheran looks great. I'm getting a slight home favorite against a really bad pitcher.

Went to the Kentucky Derby in 1987. First time I had ever been to a horse race. The Derby is the eighth race of the day. I finished in the money in six of the eight races I bet on, including a daily double and an exacta. I had $30 across the board on Alysheba, which ended up paying out about $500. Beginners luck. Still know nothing about horses. Never went back to a horse race because I knew I would just be giving the money back.

My second favorite horse...

of course....
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

I have to admit this one had me quietly snickering...

ROTOWORLD- Red Sox manager John Farrell confirmed that David Price is healthy.'

He may as well have added, "He just sucks".
Most long contracts are at least friendly for clubs in their genesis.
Boston has to be concerned.

Shelby Miller seems right on schedule. Top 2nd bases loaded no one out.

In case you missed it, two-run homer by BARTOLO COLON!!! :o :o :o

The Mets' dugout went crazy!

Kind of feel like James Shields should be sent down to AAA for a week of penance or something.

I was sitting with my son watching the game, he says, "what if Bartolo Colon hits a home run?" I said, no way it ever happens. Next pitch........ One of the craziest/funniest things I have ever seen.

That's awesome. Hilarious watching the Mets' dugout go crazy. I think it was de Grom who was hopping around like a little kid. Great moment. And it was a nice shot, too!

Wow, my DC team BA is .480 (24 for 50) with 3HRs and 2SBs...picked up a whopping 12.5 pts today. Too bad I'm still way down in the standings. lol

Freddie Freeman is now the only Atlanta Brave with more home runs than Bartlo Colon!

Braves let me down Miller was ripe for the taking early.

Anyone notice Aaron Hill 3 HR and 7 RBI. The Reds bullpen is an absolute mess.

It will be interesting to see what Hill goes for in FAAB. Good park to hit in.

Brandon Phillips on fire this week! On auction day I figured Miggy and Bryant were a good source for power and now I'm watching Phillips and Rasmus carry my team. Which means I'm for sure in trouble. But that is the name of the game. Love baseball season!!!

I edited this mashup video of Bartolo's HR/ The Natural - it's actually gaining some traction online. Thought my fellow-NFBCers would appreciate:
