May 9th Gameday Thread
It's Monday, but at least we have baseball tonight!
Re: May 9th Gameday Thread
.
Will a PED announcement be made today?
Will the next player they nail be one who is fantasy relevant?
Will we find out today before or after rosters lock?
Plus: It's Aroldis Chapman's return to the Yankees. Does this help the team at all? Does it make the clubhouse a better place or worse. I keep thinking of the Nats clubhouse chemistry after Papelbon was traded to Washington.
Dude, you're in the MLB not the NFL.

I'm still betting nobody relevant, but I guess we'll see.Deadheadz wrote:.

Just a little Stuff.....
Rich Hill gave up his first run past the third inning in his last performance.....
In his last performance, Gio Gonzalez struck out his first LH batter....
It's not that Gio has been ineffective vs. lefties. Managers have stacked their lineups with righties like Rox hitters at Coors vs. Shelby Miller....
Aaron Sanchez has yet to give up a home run to a RH batter...not just this year, for his career.
Buster Posey is not in the Giants lineup tonight...

Re: May 9th Gameday Thread
Andrelton Simmons out needs thumb surgery certainly not fantasy relevant but this puts the Angels in the must stream against when making FAAB decisions hurts their defense against an already wiped out pitching staff.
Pirates have to be on Glasnow watch 48 K's in 34 innings and his pitch counts are ramping up.

Do the Yankees trade Chapman or Miller I would bet they do. The Nationals have to be all in don't they given Harper's impending contract. If they only have him for 2 plus years shouldn't they go for it?
I read if the Cubs play 500 rest of season they finish with 90 wins

Chapman or Miller, yes.
But, they'll have to wait to let the pennant hoped teams show themselves to get full return.
There is nothing wrong with Rondon, but put Chapman in that bullpen and the Cubs would look even scarier.

Sonny Gray...

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Is starting Jake Peavy for two starts this week with one vs. the Blue Jays what it feels like to be suicidal you guys?

I did it myself. Seems like the wrong thing to do but how would you feel if you left him on the bench and he ended up with 2 wins 11+ K by weeks end?COZ wrote:Is starting Jake Peavy for two starts this week with one vs. the Blue Jays what it feels like to be suicidal you guys?
We are talking about Peavy and the mighty Blue Jays, right?

I think we're both delusional. I have to watch his games with a baseball glove nearby and anytime something bad happens I scream at myself into the glove, " You. IDIOT!!!!"Deadheadz wrote:I did it myself. Just saw that Realmuto's RBI last night was a 2 run homer but he passed Ozuna. Seriously annoying.
