Did you get a Save yesterday?
Chances are that you did.
There was a Save in 12 of 16 games yesterday.
Including one from an Otero and a Richards.
Except for one game( CLE 8, CIN 7), every losing team had three runs or less yesterday.
Eddie Rosario played like a bad slow pitch softball player yesterday.
He unleashed a rainbow to home plate in a bad attempt to get a runner scoring, allowing the fellow that hit the single to him, an extra base.
Then made a wild throw off balance to second base later.
Then, with two outs and his team trailing 6-3, he stole third base against a shift by beating the third baseman to the bag.
Paul Molitor didn't think the risk was worth the reward. He pulled Rosario before Rosario made it to the dugout.
An hour after the game, Rosario was sent to the Minors.
In real life, I'll bet some bosses wish they had the minors to send an employee to.
Rajai, Khris, or Chris.
Of the three Davis', this week, I'll take Rajai and Khris.
Ian Kinsler has as many homers during the last four days as Yasiel Puig has this year.
I'm glad Khris Davis hit all these homers (leading home run hitter for May) during May.
On pace enthusiast be damned.
Bryce Harper has walked 28 times during his last 12 games, including four times last night.
He has scored seven runs during those 12 games. Drove in three. Has one extra base hit.
Harper is hitting under .200 and has two homers for the month of May.
While SABR's are extolling the virtues of his on base percentage, his owners gnash their teeth.
Don't you wish your Closer pitched for the Phillies, instead of teams like the Cubs or Braves?
Philadelphia's last 15 Wins have all been by three runs or less.
Sal Perez has six homers and 21 rbi....so does Yan Gomes....and so does Miguel Cabrera.
Trevor Story has played 38 games. He has struck out at least once in 35 of those games.
He has struck out in 15 of 16 games during May.
His batting average for May is .299
In 729 home at bats at home, the San Francisco Giants hit 13 homers.
Only Atlanta and Philadelphia have fewer home runs at home.
In less games on the road, the Giants have almost twice as many homers.
Tyler Chatwood of the Rockies has given up one earned run on the road in 27 2/3 innings.
As a staff, the Rockies have a 3.21 E.RA. and 1.17 WHIP on the road.
With an overall E.R.A. OF 4.78, the Rockies rank 27 of 30 teams.
Rockies batters have more homers away (25) than home (21)
As much as has been said about how bad Atlanta has been this year and how good the Phillies have been....
The Phils have scored just 10 more runs than Atlanta.
As much as been said about how great the Cubs lineup is this year...
The Cubs have scored just three more runs than the Cardinals.
The Cards have more homers too.
Mookie Betts has 23 rbi at home this season. Manny Machado has (21) for the season.
A lot of folks find Clayton Kershaw's 88/4 k/bb ratio amazing.
Understood.
Yordano Ventura leads the league with 29 bases on balls. He has just 31 K's.
If there is an opposite of Kershaw this year, it would be 'Ace' Ventura.
Vantura (4-2) has just two less Wins than Kershaw (6-1).

Doughboys,
Love reading your stuff (I also think I am in one of your leagues). Baseball lends itself to such fascinating analysis of stats. On a side-note, there was a save situation in the Cin/Clev game. Cingrani blew it.. and I had him. It has been a rough start to the year!

Re: Stuff and Thoughts
I know you're not impressed by guys who keep the bat on their shoulder, but Rosario is a perfect example of a guy who is unlikely to ever enjoy Major League success again if he doesn't learn the strike zone. Which is too bad because he has an attractive skill set for roto players. Three walks in 121 plate appearances is just pathetic. Only three players in MLB swing at pitches outside the zone more than Rosario. Only one player in MLB swings at strikes more than Rosario. Nobody in the league swings through more pitches.

Thanks Driver, much appreciated.
I share in your angst, I have Cingrani in an important league as well.
Jim,
You know those girls with a knockout body?
The one's that make you look both coming and going?
But, above the neckline, they've lost the battle with the zit monster or some other unfortunate malady?
There are ball players like that too.
Eddie Rosario, Yasiel Puig, and especially from the past, Milton Bradley.
These players have zillion dollar bodies of five tool quality.
Then, we look above the neckline.
