Question for Chicago people or Cub fans

Heading to Chicago in a couple weeks. Planning to go to Wrigley June 17th. Does Wrigley always sell out? Can tickets be bought at the stadium? Must I go to stub hub (never used)... If anyone has any tips I welcome them.

I was in Chicago this past Friday. Got tickets directly from the Wrigley Field box office on the morning of the game -- believe it was to the left of the famous neon entrance sign. Don't worry about getting there too early -- the Wrigleyville bar scene is fantastic.

Totally worth it and would do it again in a heartbeat. Enjoy!

I'm a stubhub guy because I like to see all my ticket/price options and have an actual ticket in hand before I go to any event so I'm not at the mercy of scalpers/box office lines, but that's just me. The Cubs sell their premium tickets on stubhub and you can just print out your ticket & go. It's really a phenomenal service & I have utilized them for years and never had a problem. I'm pretty sure all ticket sales on stubhub are cut off 6 hours prior to gametime so be careful if you buy on the day of game. Otherwise, as Glenn said, you can get tickets at the box office. Enjoy!

Here's one option, especially if you are going as a single.

Buy one ticket at face value from Cubs online today, there are still some available.
When you get to Wrigley, enter through the gate under the Marque.
Turn left in the concourse. About 25 feet down the wall on the left side is the customer relations window.
Go there and ask to upgrade ticket. ( The Cubs hold back some tickets and season ticket holders turn back tickets)
You will have the pay the difference in face value price between your ticket and the new ticket, but you can get some good seats, especially if you only want a single ticket.
This is just a guess on my part, but I felt the best time to do this was about 75 min before game time.
I was a ticket holder for 7 years, I would upgrade 2 or 3 times a year just to get different looks.

The only caveat, sometimes they don't do ticket exchanges on days that are sold out, or weekend games.
They will have a sign in the window (No Ticket Exchange) if they aren't doing it that day.
If that happens, you are stuck with what you got today.

Thanks. I am going with my wife. I have never used stub hub but will have to poke around there today. I do not go to live sporting events often and wanted to see if there were any tricks I wasn't aware of. I believe it is the 30th anniversary of Ferris Buellers Day off and they are doing some celebration lol.

wow.. cheapest Cubs tickets I see on Stub hub are $80... wow. Remember when you could go to a MLB game for $12?

ya- but at least cub fans show up. the yankees and mets look like the miami heat in the lebron era- all the seats sold for $2000- but no people in them. paid "attendance" is really "paid' at ny games. they need to put cutouts of people in those empty seats.

btw- you show your age driver. in 1972 or 73 some friends and i decided to go watch nolan ryan pitch against the sox- 6 bucks behind home plate. typical nolan ryan- interested in striking everyone out he lost 2-1 by throwing a hanging curve to a judy who took him deep.
