Sunday New York Main Event March 26. 10 am ET Is The Time

Post by Tom Kessenich » Tue Nov 22, 2016 11:55 am

OK folks, since we don't have a Thursday night Main Event in New York this year we're looking to add a second day Main Event and the only option is to add one on Sunday. Right now I'm planning on adding one at the following time:

Sunday March 26 Noon ET

How does that sound to everyone?

I'm definitely open to suggestions but want to throw this out for discussion. We have plenty of time to figure it out so let me know what you all think and we'll figure this out. Let's keep a second Main Event in New York on the schedule for next year and make the final day in New York a fun one. Sound good? :)

My vote would be to start at 10 am. That being noted, I will try to make 12 noon work if that is the final decision.

I think you should start it for them at 5:30 am.
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

OK that's two votes for 10 am so far.

One vote for 5:30 am but that one does not include me getting up that early to run it so it has already been eliminated from consideration. :)

10 am ET is the clubhouse leader. Let's keep the conversation going and come up with a plan. Thanks everyone.

Just bumping this thread back up the page. With no contests on Thursday night in NYC this year, I'm hoping there are enough folks sticking around NYC to do some drafting on Sunday, preferably in the morning. Would love to just move the Thursday night Main Event we've done the last few years to Sunday morning, say around 10 am, although I probably could swing a little later start time if necessary. Although a second Main Event contest would be my preference, I'd also be game for a Sunday morning Auction Championship or Online Championship Plus contest. Let's see if we can give Tom some more feedback so that something can be nailed down. Thanks.

The Sunday afternoon auction has been a constant for years and we have people signed up for that already so I'd prefer not to make any changes to that on the schedule. I haven't added a Sunday Main in NY to registration yet since interest hasn't been very strong but when we get to the New Year I'll definitely put something on and see if that spurs some interest. We just need to settle on a time so let's keep the discussion going and see what we can figure out.

All right folks, I didn't get a lot of feedback on this so that has led me to make an executive decision so here it is - the second New York Main Event day/time will be ...

Sunday March 26 10 am ET.

This is now on registration so if you want to sign up you can dive in and get your spot reserved. Don't forget if you take multiple main events and live event combinations your fees are waived. The discount packages aren't working on registration right now so just sign up for multiple contests on the site and I'll take care of the fees after you sign up. So who wants to get into the Sunday Main Event or a second one at that time? Sign up and get in on the fun. :)
