Wild Card
Lots of excitement out here as Rocktober officially begins. My condolences to Greg and Tom, but it was a hell of a season for the Brew Crew and I expect bigger things next season. This was about the dullest September I can remember in MLB as so many teams just laid waste to their respective divisions. I hope an exciting playoff and World Series are around the corner. Carlos Gonzalez is the only remaining player from the Rockies last playoff team in 2009.

Re: Wild Card
Congrats to the Rockies and all playoff-bound MLB teams. The split between the elite teams and the bottom feeders is wider than at any time that I can remember. I guess what that means is that while the MLB season was anti-climactic in September, October should be a time to remember. I can't wait for the playoffs to begin.
As for the Brewers, if you had told me at the beginning of the year that we'd still be in a playoff hunt during the second-to-last game of the season I would have taken it. In fact, I almost bet the Under on 70 wins this season because I felt the rebuilding effort had a LOOOONG way to go. But David Stearns has done a great job putting this young team together and I think this team can be a contender for the next few years and hopefully longer.
It was one hell of a season. When the Twins can go from 103 losses to a playoff spot, it gives everyone hope that building through your own organization can be done successfully. Several teams are testament to that. Let's just hope the divide between the elites and the also-rans narrows next year and in years to come. It's not good for the sport to have multiple 100-win teams and multiple 100-loss teams.
