How do we look on the content panel league?

Post by bjoak » Tue Mar 27, 2007 1:26 pm

I would really like to do BBDS for something different. I am pretty much all drafted out this season with the same old.

I am not in favor of paying $65. I thought this league was free. I didn't sign-up to pay for yet another league. If you guys want to make side bets make them, but these weren't the details when we agreed to this.

I'm also not crazy about distracting myself from the first game of the season, which as a baseball fan I was kind of excited to watch, but if that is the time I will agree to it. Why not Sunday afternoon, to be followed by the game?

If we are going to do BDDS, we need more lead time - actually if we are going to do it this Sunday we need to make sure everyone is on board with that and doesn't already have a prior commitment.

GREG - I think an email to get availability for Sunday - or a later date if that won't work is necessary. There are probably people in the group not even checking the boards right now.

6 people who know how to play in the sand box with others and bjoak will come around- kick it up to 70 if he does not want in. The good thing about bjoak is he is so freaking competetive he will try hard with none of his money on the line.

Yes, I have XFL draft in 10 minutes. I'll send out an e-mail to the Content Panel tomorrow morning and try to finalize Sunday night by tomorrow end of business day.

Captain I agree and BBDS would be awesome- but just seems impractical at this point. The suggestions I made of Sunday, 65 bucks, and random draw were not my first choice either, but it is choices that was able to get 6 of the 15 on board in an hour. I think we need to resist making suggestions for improvement at this point and keep it simple. Again I agree with you guys on BBDS but to do this right it needs to get finalized in a day or so- the simpler the better. Who we missing bjoak would make 7, Zaleski, Kimo, Eric Peden- do you all know these guys email addresses.

I also think Captain raises a good point quicker we get this discussion in email the better so everyone sees it quicker.

The good thing about bjoak is he is so freaking competetive he will try hard with none of his money on the line. Not true, my $500 that I plan on winning will be on the line. I've just really reached my fantasy quota on spending for this year. Laugh it up or call me cheap if you want, but I've had it. I'm ready for returns on my investments. I'm done spending.

Easy fix if bjoak doesnt opt-in, 3 scenarios for standings and payout:

Standings:

1st non-bjoak team $1,000

2nd non-bjoak team $500

1st bjoak $500

2nd non-bjak $1,000

1st non-bjoak $1,000

2nd bjoak $0

3rd non-bjoak $500

How do we look on the content panel league?

Sorry I wasn't around last evening as I was, strangely enough, doing a private auction league (which went on WAY too long).

I am game for Sunday (anytime), the extra kick-in (side bet format or otherwise), and anyway you want to pick draft. I do think this would have been an excellent format to try the "bid FAAB for draft spot", but I do think time is against us. Dust off, disinfect, reshape Tom's hat is fine with me.

Tom/Greg: Remember Gerry Scotto Di Marco is filling my spot in this league. Please see that he gets the invite. Thanks.

I think it's safe to say that my family has just about had it with me sitting in front of a computer for NFBC satellite leagues this last week and last night our XFL supplemental draft started at bedtime. That didn't go over well!!!

But right now I'm in and you folks are TOAST!!!

About time you left the kiddie pool of those other "expert" leagues and played in the deep end with the big boys! :D

Hmmm...I wonder if I can get Pujols?

Greg, I can definitely participate if you need someone. Any fee is ok, any kind of draft position selection is ok, anytime Sunday is ok.

I do not know if you've already got someone from LV6 or not.

Okay, we're almost there. We'll finalize draft picks, etc., tomorrow morning. Get ready everyone.

NFBC Content Panel League

Sunday, April 1st

7 p.m. EST, MockDraftCentral.com

1. Glenn Schroter

2. Kent Stermon

3. Wayne Edwards

4. Kevin Dukesherer

5. Perry Van Hook

6. Dan Kenyon

7. Brian Oakchunas

8. Jim Ferrari

9. David Van Der Stuyf

10. Ed O'Donnell (for Eric Peden)

11. Gerry Scotto di Marco (for Gekko)

12. Lance Turbes (for Scott Jupinka)

13. Greg Morgan

15. Greg Ambrosius (if needed)

No. 14 could be Kevin Kirves or John Dean. I haven't heard from Chris Throop yet, either. I'm getting the itch to teach you boys a lesson, so let's get No. 14 in here. Kevin said he would contact me tonight with an answer.

Greg,

It looks like you may have this filled at this point. If you do need one more (for slot 14), I could take that. I definitely do not want in if it will bump you from slot 15, as I think everybody would like to see you take part in this draft!

Thanks,

Yup, Chest...I'm in for the side action! I get a 2nd shot at you, Kent!

LOVE that Greg is actually mixing it up with the "big boys"!

Tom's hat is great...and that $50.00 for the hat still stands!

#15 seems very suspicious, make sure his card clears before you let him sign up :D

So if we go 70 for 14 of us we are at 980 plus Greg's 500. Need to find 20 bucks and 1000 for first, 500 for 2nd? If Greg wins he just gets greenbacks?- which leads me to say maybe one of us should keep the money so Greg can actually get cash. Perry you up for that? I will do it if no one else will, but Perry aren't you the keeper of some side bet escrow money already.

I'll throw in the extra 20 to make a round number. It's all coming back anyway!
