First shot at NFBC baseball. I think it's okay but I was a bit stressed. My analysis is that I'm a little weak in BA but power and speed will be fine. I'm counting on several young players with upside. My pitching should also be competitive and hopefully one of the rumored trades for Jorge Julio will take place which will give me the option of starting a 3rd closer. Drafted at 11.

I'd appreciate comments. Thanks.

looks ok JP, but very weak in average, since you only have 2 .300 hitters (jeter + ortiz) the rest are .260 hitters..starting of with a DH is also dicey.......also you weak with Power as your 1B,C1,3B combo is very weak...better luck in football...

[/QUOTE]Certainly agree on the average issue although I'm looking for some upside moves, particularly Aubrey Huff. As for power, I hope you're wrong. Our friend Shandler has my starters at 292 HR. Ortiz anchors at 47 and all the OF'ers are in the mid 20's and I get a good contribution from SS and 2B.

I missed the closer run and am likely screwed. They went early so I thought it best to "punt" that category for now until something shakes out. Maybe I can get lucky with free agency bucks...

Marty Ok Marty, since no one else will I think your IF is in great shape, outfield a little shakey (but to be expected). Good core of SP studs to build out from and closers looks covered. I think Speed is going to be a risk point, unless Duffy goes crazy (which he might). Pretty good overall balance

Hey Marty good to see you at the draft! Probably one of the best team I think I have seen. If Durham somehow repeats, you will be in great shape. You have speed, SP, and even a great closer. And a good closer in waiting. You seem a few homers short to me, but overall well balanced and nicely done

Mission Impossible IV, League 6, #15...our goals were: one good catcher and no bums, one top closer, no shortage of HRs, RBIs, runs, and a good enough SP staff to contend. Scrapped previous strategy of relying on other people's projections, and worked hard for months...hopefully it paid off...

Marty, you've got a real solid team, especially with Thome added to it! An abundance of power, and a solid starting pitching staff...

You're counting a lot on Chris Duffy, who may or may not be Pittsburgh's version of Nook Logan... Then again he might have 50+ steals...

You're also gambling with Gagne as second closer, but who knows... If not, you'll spend a little money to pick up a couple closers in the pool.
