Hey Marty good to see you at the draft! Probably one of the best team I think I have seen. If Durham somehow repeats, you will be in great shape. You have speed, SP, and even a great closer. And a good closer in waiting. You seem a few homers short to me, but overall well balanced and nicely done

Spy
[/QUOTE]I agree I like that team a lot- your middle infield is horrible but that can be fixed in FAAB or at least brought to average which is all you really need with the rest of that solid core . I like the prospect of Tulowitski to exceed expectations more than Durham putting together another 06 or Bartlett stepping forward another step. You may have to change your screen name.

SluggoJD:

I don't think you made any mistakes early, which is probably more important than making "great" picks. Sizemore has only scratched the surface, and Thome adds a lot of power for a fifth round pick. Victor Martinez playing some 1B may give him more AB that almost every other catcher, and he's got a great pct at a tough position to get that.

I really liked where you got Overbay, Pettitte, Tim Hudson, and Scott Shields. I also like Geoff Jenkins -- he's one of the most hard-nosed players in the game, and he just murders RHPs. You can alternate him and Dellucci based on who's going to face more RHPs that week.

Smoltz and Harang are great names at the top of your rotation, but I like where you got Pettitte, Lilly, and Tim Hudson in the second half of your draft, and if Prior makes it back, you'll be in very good shape. It shows just how many potentially good pitchers are there if you can just be patient!

Freel is potentially a great steals guy, but injury prone. I think you'll be looking for speed and a closer in the pool -- the closer may be easier to find...

Overall, a very interesting team with a good strategy.

i know i have to work on starters, but thats the easiest thing to get during the season.. tough to pick up offense.. let me know. I try to comment only on the ones I like after the season starts b/c constructive criticism does not help for about 364 more days. BUT why would you draft 3 closers with so many holes in the starting pitching, there are reconstruction projects in starting pitching every year in the NFBC, there are no ground up construction projects in FAAB.

Also did you go Wells and C Lee at 14 and 17?

I like my upside for pitching on my bench Lee and Colon can fill in for Meche and someone else that fails like Garza, Hudson, or Buerhle. Also could, key word "could" have a 3rd closer to help lock up a top 3 place in points for saves.

Hey God

Good to see you too. Not toobad Love your starting pitching. Middle infield is so-so Need Durham to stay healthy. Closers you need another 1 since I have Gagne can not look at Atsuka as full closer but again saves are just 1 category Good Luck

any feedback would be appreciated Robotur, I think you started great. I think similar to me in my first year, you petered out a bit in the mid rounds, but you have a solid core of players and could do well. I like the Kelly Johnson at the end and you are missing a big speed guy, but maybe you can grab someone like alex sanchez. You will also want to reinforce your closers...

Welcome to the NFBC and good luck!

Hi all,

ok, so everyone else has posted their main event teams, here is RT and mine. We picked #3 in NY 1

The huge gap we obviously have is the 2nd closer. I am hoping we get someone through FAAB. Also, we are going to be closely watching for breakouts on SS, and Catcher (though, isn't everyone looking for closers and catchers?). Our draft had a huge run on closers and SP early. We just weren't willing to spend the high level pick required to get the second superstud closer.

I like most of the offense, obviously things petered out on the Outfield. Depending on Gomes, you may have a slight power outtage. I think you have enough core SPs to find the right mix there - one or two of those bounce back or prospects will be good and you can build from there

Good luck bud!

GREAT mi and C which will compensate for possible OF issues.. alou(inj) blake(underperf) gomes(doesnt return to '05 2nd half). But bench OF's are good stopgaps until you find a SB guy on waivers. It looks like you're falling a bit short of sb projections. It looks like you'll be ERA challenged and after watching Zach Duke pitch like Zach Braff you'll bouce your namesake in a hurry !

Very nice Hermanson nab.

Spy-nice squad, I like your offense a lot. Pujols at 3 must have been sweet. Not huge on Glaus and Phillips but they do serve a purpose. Can B Phillips repeat last yrs success? Have questions about Gomes 2. Staff has potential if Wang repeats and Beckett pitches well. Doug Davis could hurt you, while paplebon and Capuano are solid.

LV League 10, Pick 1

1st-Pujols

2nd - Kendrick

SS - B Hall

3b - Iwamura

MI - Bartlett

CI - UPton/Punto/Kuozmanoff(Utility first two weeks then hopefully 3b)

C - Barajas

OF - A Jones

OF - J Bay

OF - C Crisp

OF - B Giles

OF - Quentin/DeJesus

SP - Sheets / Haren / Bush / Escobar / Snell / N Robinson

RP - Valverde / S Torres / Orvella

Colon/Kotchman/Hermanson

Like my outfield, weak MI/COR spots and very weak catching. Hope my starting infield and outfield can make up for Bartlett/catching and risky 3b/Cor slots. If Sheets stays healthy my starting pitching should be solid but if he goes down my team will be in trouble. Missed the 1st run on closers, so I got 2nd tier stuff. I did get Billy Hall with the last pick of the 4th round and when I went around the room after the draft it looked like that was the latest he went so I guess I was very lucky to get him. When Billy leads the Brewers to the NL Pennant and gets some top 10 MVP votes I'll be a happy camper. When viewing the sports book betting action on the over/under wins for a team I thought the Brewers at 81 was one of the better bets. I'm missing a few end game players because I haven't looked at the team since I left the draft room and had focused all my time on March Madness. It is possible that N Robinson is not even on my team. Vegas is the place to be during March Madness. Pac 10 with 3 in the sweet 16. Wisonsin fans chanting "shoot him like a horse" at the Hilton Sport Book when the UNLV player when down made it all the more sweet when they were taken out by the Running Rebels.

I missed the boat on this one, but I think I may be okay, especially if Huston Street gets hurt Corners are weak, especially with Nick Johnson out for quite awhile. Other than that, offense is good. Obviously, saves are a weakness unless you can pickup a closer or if Tankersley or Duch. comes through. Otherwise pretty good overall.
