CL- Dempster Dirt Dogs: Nice team I really like the pitching staff. Myers-Olsen are high on my list. Didn't you have the 8th pick? How did you get Holliday??

Yes, every draft has it's oddities, but none so stark as LV lg8, where JOHAN fell to the 21st pick. Thought this would be the main topic of conversation by now, Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet

if guillen gets hurt like always and if ortiz sees any drop in hr production that dirt dogs team is really looking for power if you ask me and dempster is really shaky.....

I do think Tejeda in the 1st round in our league was also a big surprise...

I hear that Spy, im sure you were giddy. I "reached" for Utley at six and I almost fell off my chair when I was able to draft his infield partner, Jimmy Rollins, with the 25th pick.

I did do a little cheer. I would have LOVED to get Rollins on the back side, nice pickup.

I was stunned Q myself. I had a false sense of security going into the Ultimate on sunday but those hopes were dashed as he went 4th pick in the 3rd round. Utlet, Rollins and Hall is definitely the sickest MI I ever drafted in 23 years!

I agree with Guillen but to say that my '5TH' OF going down is going to really hurt my team is silly. And to think that Papi is going to decrease production i guess you havent seen the upward swing over each of the past 4 years.

Oh yeah and Holliday,Beltre,Jacobs,Markakis,Fielder are scrubs that cant hit the long ball.

Oh wait 15 each from V-tek and Zaun and maybe 15 each from Lugo and Renteria and Quentin........

Sorry but I lost count of HR. whats your team look like.

I live in boston so sort of understand ortiz..thanks for the help though...you have a lot of guys that could put hrs but maybe not...a guy like holliday I dont see putting up more hrs....zaun could be platooning and varitek isnt much anymore...I see it every night....I agree on renteria and quentin but I cant see ortiz hitting more than 52......id say high 40's more than likely....you will definitely be looking for power if one of those of's starts to slump...trust me...

also, your last 4 pitchers could be getting bombed...eaton in that little park...wakefield is sort of a time bomb...sowers will pitch well but not what you need in that group.....bonderman and myers are good but olsen I had last year hurts your whip...he will be good....

id rather have my staff without question:

Carpenter

Schilling

Wang

Verlander

Rogers

Randy Johnson (huge gamble and kind of stupid I know)

Billy Wagner

Justin Duscherer

Jason Isringhausen

Injury concerns I know but its a great core to build around...mine is not a contending team but neither is yours as someone said...hahahaha

if either johnson or isringhausen can stay healthy we will be very solid to build around our staff....all on world series contending teams our pitchers with the exception of Johnson and mayb dusherer.....street will get hurt again is my guess but so will isringhausen....I think johnson will produce this year...

granted our offense is very average but the point is you could very well have power concerns...

Where is your offense?

I would have to disagree on your starting pitching being better than mine. having kenny rogers and randy johnson dont exactly let you sleep at night when they are pitching on those late west coast games.

and saying Holliday is not going to improve on his HR is absolutely ludacris. Based on your pitchers you appear to be one of those owners that like the old and declining guys instead of the up and coming guys that can only get better.

I'm from Boston (Boston Dirt Dogs) so i like the honest critism but hey, lets play some ball and see what happens. thats the beauty of fantasy baseball. Everyone loves there teams right now!

Good luck!

Injury concerns I know but its a great core to build around...mine is not a contending team but neither is yours as someone said...hahahaha This pitching is good but not great. You have 3 starters 40 and over. Wang and Rogers will get you 160K's COMBINED. Here is an update on Izzy for you. I can see a lot of DL tags on your roster come June 1st. I hope your offense is good!

Jason Isringhausen (RHP, STL)

This could be the feel good story of the spring. Aging closer with arthritic hip gets new lease on his baseball life and saves the Cardinals bullpen. That kind of sentiment is great for the movies but not on draft day. There is enough uncertainty during the draft without wondering if he can stay healthy the entire season. Just six months ago, there was talk he might need an artificial hip in the future, that’s how bad his left hip was in September. Look for your saves from a less risky alternative.
