I enjoy the discussion, so keep it going. And like Dan, I love nostalgic stories too!!

But one thing I do want to point out is that the $750 and $1500 OCs didn't prevent the Dirty Dozens from succeeding. We currently have 13 $1500 signups and 36 $750 OCs, some of those from people who moved from the Dirty Dozens to the $750s. In total that's less than 80 teams that wanted to play in a 12-team format at $750, $1,000 or $1,500.

It's the 12-team format here, more than anything else. No idea why, but that's a big part (okay FAAB in that format has a lot to do with it). As Dan said, the Sept. 1st cutoff was a turnoff for some who may have considered this, but I'm convinced it wasn't a big enough factor that would have had us going from 30 teams to 192. We've tried this twice now and we don't need to be banged over the head a third time to find out what our customers want. Let's give it to them next year.

The single-entry concept for season-long is needed. We've figured it out for football. Baseball will be tougher, but we will figure it out.
I agree with Greg about the $750 and $1,500 OC. The reason I signed up for that this year is because it has a smaller overall component so it has a completely different strategy and I wanted to be in one of those this year. I'm sure others feel the same way.

I did a quick research based on last year's contests and of the 341 unique owners in the Main Event, 154 were also in the OC but 187 weren't. There's also 700 who were in the OC but didn't have a Main Event entry.

I guess there's 2 options:
1. Make it a 12-team at a lower price point than the Main Event but find a way to attract those 187 who didn't do a 12 team league last year by making it tougher than a typical 12 team league. There's probably a middle ground where you can get those 154 who like both as well as part of the ME only crowd and part of the OC only crowd.
2. Make it a 15 team league since you already have 341 high stakes players that like 15 team leagues but find a way to make it different from the Main Event.

I don't know what the answer is but I'm just throwing numbers and questions out there to get some more opinions.

The biggest problem that held this event back was the timing of the announcement that it existed. The NFBC rolled out it's schedule on November 13th 2018. This event was announced on January 4th, 2019. I realize it probably wasn't ready. None the less it's what held it back from having a fighting chance.

By January 4th most know how many teams they will have and how much money they want to spend on them. A lot of us make last minute adjustments. I was determined to only play in 4 leagues this year. When this came along I wan't sure what I would do. I decided that I would play, mostly because of the bonus associated with winning the main event. I am not really disappointed that it didn't work out because now I'm right where I want to be with 4 teams.

Had this contest been announced on November 13th I don't think that this thread would even exist.

I would say there's some truth to this, but there were other factors working against it. I think the Main Event Qualifiers also suffered from a late rollout.
